Woman Undergoing Chemotherapy Adopts a Kitten Because She Couldn’t Leave Her on the Street, and She Already Had Four Kittens at Home
Some kittens do not wait for the perfect moment to be rescued, they just show up and make the decision for you.
That is exactly what happened to a woman already going through chemotherapy, when a friend sent her a photo of a blind, starving kitten wandering toward traffic. She already had four kittens at home and had promised herself no more, but this tiny stray made the choice feel impossible.
One message, one photo, and suddenly there was a fifth kitten on the way.
The woman continues:
The problem is, Terri, not that I don't WANT any more cats; it's that I CAN'T because of my stupid illness.
But Terri knew how to push my buttons; I kept looking at this picture, and I just couldn't imagine myself saying NO to this kitty.
FINE, Terri, keep it till we get back. I will take care of this poor thing, but you should know that I will name it after you, and I will enjoy yelling, 'Terri, stop pooping in my flowers!!!'
My daughter and I were very impatient to meet this creature. I was worried because it looked really bad; it probably had very bad eyes or was even blind... was I going to manage with this kitten?
Luckily, it was better than the vet and I thought. Because of her weird tortie pattern, her eyes looked worse than they were. After a month of bottle feeding, butt wiping, and eye cleaning, Terri turned into a pretty spoiled little miss kitten. Mambo Number 5 in our cat collection.
That tiny kitten did not stay a stray for long.
How it started...

"She grew up nicely and has the sweetest beans and tongue."

"She loves to sleep on this particular carpet, probably because, with her tortie design, she blends into the pattern?"

It’s also like the neighborhood hero who was stunned when their rescued stray kitty turned out pregnant.
"She is the contortionist in my cat family. We often have to look closely to see where her head is and where her butt begins."

"They all have their cardboard luxury home."

"La vita è bella!"

"Shamelessly squatting in our oldest cat's mansion..."

"For all the crazy cat lovers..."
"For all the crazy cat lovers, I recommend the square on the floor experiment. You know how they like boxes.
They also seem to be interested in squares drawn on the floor. I used tape for my experiment.
At that moment, only Terri and Poutpout the senior were around. They first smelled it, very intrigued.
Then they plopped around it, still observing..."

"Then voilà! The experiment is successful."

"We even had the control subject, PoutPout."

"Ahhh, life with cats is never boring."
"During my chemotherapy, I used to sleep downstairs on the couch for various reasons. It was comfortable, but at some point, I started having nightmares, some of them quite recurrent.
As if something was embracing me from behind (stop giggling) and pulling me to the ground. Luckily, my husband noticed one day that Miss Terri had made a hole in the couch and was sleeping inside it.
And the monster in my nightmare was her trying to scratch me through the couch..."

There is no such thing as having too many pets, and this woman’s example proves it. Even though you might suspect that having additional pets around during difficult times would be a burden, it actually turned out to be a great help.
She had even more love and support to help her get through a difficult period.
Somehow, the fifth kitten fit right in.
Before she could name “Terri,” read why this mom asked if she was wrong to get rid of the cat.
