Blind and Deaf Dog Finally Finds His Forever Home and Dedicates His Life to Helping Foster Animals in Need
A tiny feral kitten named Tiny Tolley didn’t stand a chance, not at first. She was sick, scared, and barely clinging to life when Sheryl Smith stepped in to try and save her.
But here’s what makes this story wild, Sherio, a blind and deaf dog, was already in the middle of it all. Sheryl says Sherio has a talent for reading animals the way other people read vibes, he climbed into a pregnant dog’s space to start cleaning the pups, and he later sat with feral cats and kittens until they trusted him. When Tiny Tolley needed comfort, Sherio never left her crate for even a second.
And once that kitten recovered, the bond didn’t just fade, it turned into a whole new mission for Sherio.
This is Sherio

Sheryl explained his caring nature:
“Just after I rescued him [Sherio], I rescued a pregnant dog who was too sick to care for her pups, so Sherio climbed in with them and started cleaning them. He’s done that with every rescue I take in.
He will just sit patiently with the feral cats and kittens, and bonds so strongly with them that they trust him before they trust me,” said Sheryl.

According to Sheryl, Sherio also enjoys helping cats
Not long ago, Sheryl Smith encountered Tiny Tolley, a tiny feral kitten battling illness and misfortune. Smith took the initiative to save the kitten and offer essential support.
Upon recognizing the kitten's delicate state, she began efforts to restore its well-being through nursing. Sherio, possessing keen instincts, promptly sensed that without intervention, Tiny Tolley's survival would have been unlikely.

“Sherio never left her crate for a second,” said Smith

“He knew she was so sick and scared… that she needed to be comforted.”

Assisted by this kind-hearted giant, the small kitten eventually made a full recovery, and once it regained sufficient strength, Sherio approached to snuggle alongside:

Sheryl’s first rescue set the tone, because Sherio immediately climbed in with the pregnant dog’s pups and started cleaning them like it was instinct.
It’s a similar kind of bond to the deaf dog who finally found a forever home and never returned to the shelter.
Then came the feral cat and kitten hangouts, where Sherio patiently sits until the tiny ones trust him before they trust Sheryl.
When Sheryl found Tiny Tolley, Sherio could tell she was too sick and scared, so he stayed inside her crate and offered steady comfort.
After Tiny Tolley finally bounced back, Sherio didn’t just move on, he went right back to snuggling alongside her, proving he was built for forever.</p>
