This Beagle Became A Surrogate Mother For Two Kittens, And It's The Sweetest Thing You'll See Today
Some pets are born to be companions, and Daisy the beagle seems to have taken that role to a whole new level. The one-year-old dog lives in Staplehurst, Kent, with her human, Jane Whitton, and two kittens named Dexter and Fletcher, and their bond has become unexpectedly adorable.
When Jane brought the kittens home at just 9 weeks old, Daisy immediately treated them like her own. She followed them everywhere, stayed close, and even became so attached that her body started producing milk, turning her into a true surrogate mom for the pair.
Dexter and Fletcher are completely convinced Daisy is their mother, and honestly, it is easy to see why. Read on for the sweetest part of their story.
Daisy the beagle shares a very special bond with kittens Dexter and Fletcher.

She spends all her time running after them and making sure they are protected and taken care of.

The trio's bond is so strong that Daisy's body even started producing milk to feed Dexter and Fletcher.

Kind of like the rescue dog who bonded with a newborn foal after his mom was gone.
The sweet kittens have no idea that Daisy isn't their real mama.

Daisy has never had a litter of her own, but that hasn't stopped her from being a beautiful and nurturing mother.

We think these three will be besties forever!

Believe it or not, there are lots of other stories about animals adopting other animals and raising them as their own. Our furry friends are truly amazing and should not be underestimated!
Take, for example, Mzee the turtle from Kenya. Mzee took care of a baby hippo who was rescued after a terrible tsunami.
The 130-year-old turtle took some time to warm up to the hippo. But once he did, he took his job as the hippo's caregiver very seriously.
Another adorable example is a cat from Colombia who adopted a wounded squirrel cub. The cat had been nursing her litter of kittens at the time, and when the squirrel was presented to her, she immediately began nursing it as one of her own.
Animals are truly incredible, and we humans could learn a lot from them. The world would certainly be a better place if we were as accepting and kind as our furry friends!
