This Poor Little Dog Has Finally Found A Home, But He Can't Seem To Walk Through The Front Door
Boomer is one lucky pit bull mix. He has made the journey from street urchin to suburban pup, and he still can't believe someone would let him come inside their home.
His story begins like that of any other homeless dog—with an empty stomach and hungry nights spent on cold concrete, wondering what tomorrow might bring. But then, Boomer got luckier than most when an angel decided it was time for this little pit bull to have some creature comforts.
Business as usual took an unexpected turn when Samantha Zimmer, a dog rescuer, received a text from a fellow K-9 enthusiast. This woman had come across some homeless dogs and took it upon herself to care for them daily. However, last month, with a snowstorm approaching, Mama Dog decided to call for help to keep all her puppies safe and secure during the cold weather season.
In the wake of the impending snowstorm in Texas, Samantha decided to track down and shelter as many pups as possible. The search was tedious, but in the end, they were able to rescue three dogs, including Boomer.
She further revealed that it was necessary to trap him, albeit humanely, as he was anxious and refused to come close to them. In her words, "He had to be humanely trapped since he was too shy to approach us."
We finally caught him safely
It was evident that the streets hadn't been kind to this little pup. Upon examination by the vet, he tested positive for heartworm disease, had severe wounds on one leg, and there were signs that he had been shot previously.
Worst of all, it was heartbreaking to see the fear in Boomer's eyes, not knowing if it was okay to walk into Samantha's house.
Watch his reaction at the front door
According to Samantha, it was clear that Boomer had never been allowed into a house, but she could tell that he wanted it so badly. "We just carried him inside most of the time. It was clear that he had never been let inside the house, and he wanted to come in."
Over the past month, Samantha has been trying to wriggle her way into Boomer's heart. Each day, she has made an effort to reassure him that he's safe and will always have a place to call home.
He finally walked in
Gradually, Boomer is starting to see that not only are there people in the world who want him, but these new friends will never leave his side. Now he gently walks in, looking to Samantha for approval.
He also loves to cuddle up on the sofa and enjoy some quality snuggles with his new friends.
All snuggled up

Samantha believes that Boomer is too sweet and loving for anyone to resist. She's optimistic that he can easily find a family of his own at the right time.
