Stray Cat Seeks Out Stranger, Guides Her to Help Her Vulnerable Kittens
While taking a stroll in New South Wales, Australia, a passerby stumbled upon an unusual sight: a mother cat and her three kittens, all looking frail and abandoned by the side of the road. Despite her weak state, this mother had been bravely fending for her little ones, trying to provide whatever scraps she could find.
Noticing the family's condition, the kind-hearted person knew they needed immediate assistance and decided to contact a local animal rescuer. To the rescuer's surprise, the mother cat didn't shy away or show any signs of aggression.
Instead, she welcomed the human's approach, leading her straight to her kittens. It was clear the kittens were in a dire state – they had eye infections and seemed underfed.
Recognizing the urgency, the good Samaritan contacted CatRescue 901, a rescue group located in Terrey Hills. The organization, known for its dedication to feline welfare, didn't waste a moment. Volunteers Natalie, Jo, and Rocio swung into action, organizing everything from the transportation of the feline family to ensuring they would be cared for upon arrival.
Thanks to their swift response, the cats are now in the safety of a foster home, where they are receiving all the love, care, and medical attention they need.

“We want to get this family off the street and get them the urgent medical attention they need,” Jenny, founder of CatRescue 901, said. “When they came to us, they were all starved, and mom was very emaciated. The babies would likely have gone blind eventually without treatment.”
The three kittens were named: Polara, the white tortie; Hirschy, the dark tortie; and Ignacio, the grey and white male.
Each of the kittens suffered from eyelid agenesis, a birth defect. When the rescue group found no foster volunteers immediately available, Natalie didn't hesitate to step up.
Even with a packed schedule, she made room in her life to help these kittens. After all they had been through, the little ones finally found solace in a secure home with cozy beds and full meals, all thanks to Natalie's kindness.
Starting their journey to recovery, the kittens were given medication. Drained from their ordeal, they rested deeply while their mom, Elodie, stayed close, purring and showing her comfort through kneading.
“They landed in the right place. We specialize in eye issues and great care, and this family needs that big time,” Jenny said. “Not many could cope with eye agenesis surgery because it’s too expensive.”

Natalie is working hard to help the kittens get healthy again. Even though she expects many late nights and numerous vet visits ahead, she's determined to give this cat family a chance at a happy and healthy life.
Thankfully, her unwavering care ensured the kittens received the help they needed just in the nick of time.
