Man Takes In A Stray Cat During His Travels And They've Been On A Road Trip Across The Country Ever Since
Environmental changes can make cats sick. That's why it can be challenging to take them on road trips.
But did you know that there's one cat from Morocco who is accustomed to a nomadic lifestyle? It's all made possible by a 32-year-old German backpacker named Martin Klauka.
The stray cat grew up on the streets of Morocco. Her dad, Klauka, who is from Rosenheim, Germany, took her in and has been traveling ever since.
The adventure cat, named Mogli, has visited various places on a Honda XRV 750 Africa Twin bike. She is used to staying on a tank bag while they are on the road, visiting dozens of countries.
Klauka never imagined adopting a cat. His current nomadic lifestyle prevents him from keeping a pet.
But one day, during a bike trip with his buddies through Morocco, the feline found him and wouldn't leave his side. According to Klauka, he and his friends were hanging around the streets of a town when a cat approached the group.
She was injured and malnourished. According to the locals, her mother had been in a car accident and died.
The kitten was left to fend for herself. Since she was young and weak, she would likely die in the streets.
This is Mogli, Klauka's cat companion on the road.

Klauka found the kitten on the streets. She was so weak and hungry.
The man saw that the furball couldn't lift her head from exhaustion. At that moment, he knew he couldn't just leave the poor thing.
People mocked him for touching a dirty street cat, but Klauka didn't mind. He carried the cat in his arms the entire night and smuggled the little one into his hotel room to protect her from the elements.

Klauka was aware of the responsibilities that came with adopting a cat so weak and young.
He wasn't sure if he was prepared for it, so he decided to sleep on it and make a decision the next day.
The following morning, he still wasn't sure what to do, but he had already fallen in love with the furball. So he decided to bring the kitten with him on his trip to see if she could manage his lifestyle.
‘It’s definitely not the right place for a cat,’ I thought, but it was either that or almost certain death on the streets.

Mogli was afraid of the bike initially.

But after half an hour of traveling on the motorbike, the cat seemed to have started to calm down.

And that was when Klauka found a companion on the road.

Klauka quit his job years ago.
He decided to hit the road afterward to embark on a big road trip. The man was able to travel with Mogli across the Mediterranean Sea to Iran and the UAE.
He crossed ten countries along the way and finally reached Dubai. During their road trip, the man and his companion quickly adapted to a routine.
Mogli keeps herself secure by tucking into Klauka's bag that's in front of his bike. At times, she would stick her head out to watch the scenery.
The feline complains whenever they pass through a bumpy road.

In busy and bustling areas, Mogli stays on Klauka's shoulder.
The adventurer allows his cat to go on her own adventures. Sometimes, it takes the whole day before she returns to him.
Mogli makes it a point to check the area for dangers whenever they reach a campsite.

The cat often stays at the campsite whenever Klauka has errands.
Other times, she follows her cat dad. But most of the time, it's the cat dad who follows her around.

Traveling with a cat can be unpredictable.
They also encounter unique challenges. Klauka had to skip areas that weren't cat-friendly. Border crossings were also a difficult affair.

Sometimes, they had no choice but to sleep in cold deserts if there were no accommodations willing to take in a traveler with a cat.

Despite those challenges, Klauka felt that the sacrifices made for his feline companion were all worth it.
He is happy about his current life, taking the kitten with him, and the fact that they have navigated through the situation.
The first leg of their journey is finally complete. Klauka is currently working in Dubai and has plans to continue the adventure through India and Pakistan soon.
They are both taking their much-needed break. But soon, the two will once again embark on a journey of epic proportions.
