A chained dog in an empty Detroit backyard was lucky enough to be seen at exactly the right moment. What started as a quiet return home turned into a rescue mission when a concerned man realized the dog was in serious distress and needed help fast.
He began reaching out to anyone who might respond, and Rebel Dogs Detroit stepped in. When volunteer Tiffany Perkins arrived, the dog was scared at first, but the second he realized she was there to help, everything changed.

The Abandoned Yard Where Beaker Was Found.

When they removed the chains from the garage, Beaker immediately dropped to the ground and rolled over. Perkins knew exactly what Beaker wanted, and she gave him belly rubs.
Seeing him up close, the volunteer noticed that the chain around Beaker's neck was embedded and stuck. It had probably been on him for a long time, and it was too tight.
Perkins rushed Beaker to the nearest vet clinic to determine what kind of treatment he needed. They were informed that Beaker required surgery to remove the metal chains around his neck.
This shelter’s rescue mirrors the abandoned dog who lost part of his face, but got a second chance.
Beaker Is the Happiest Dog Even Before Going to Surgery.
For more than five hours, the new friends waited in the car for Beaker's much-needed surgery.
They didn't waste any time bonding and getting to know each other. Perkins took this opportunity to show Beaker that he is safe and loved.
And boy, oh boy, did Beaker love the unlimited petting during those five hours! He appreciated it so much that he smiled even wider!

As a matter of fact, Beaker was so relaxed around Perkins that he eventually fell asleep on her lap. It was a well-deserved rest after suffering through so much.
A Brand New Beaker, and He's Happier Than Ever!
Beaker is now recovering from his surgery. He is very fortunate that a concerned neighbor saw him and didn't hesitate to ask for help.
Even luckier is that Tiffany Perkins was there to go above and beyond to start his rehabilitation by showing him love.
Beaker is happily living in his foster home while waiting for his forever family to adopt him. After all he's been through, this good boy deserves true love and happiness for the rest of his life.
