This Reunion Between A Deafblind Dog And Her Grandpa Will Melt Your Heart
Five years ago, Bitsy was born deaf and blind, but that did not stop her from being the happiest dog ever.
Hayden Kristal and the rest of the family accepted this pup as their own—although her father, Steve, was initially worried about how Bitsy would get around on her own and the difficulties she could face throughout her life.
Many doubts surrounded how well this brave pup could handle being both hearing and sight-impaired at such a young age and whether or not she'd even make it.
However, it didn't take long for Steve to put his fears aside when he met up with a bright-eyed Bitsy, who was a little over four weeks old.

Kristal soon found out that Bitsy had a strong sense of independence, and they could do nothing to take it away. In her words, "She has been her own woman since day one."
It was even more exciting to get an idea of some of her goofy moments. According to Kristal, "When I brought her home, the first thing she did was make a beeline for the food dish, crawl into it, and eat until she passed out." This goes on to show just how determined this pup is to live her best life.
Bitsy has had a life of adventure, traveling from one part of the country to another with her adventurous mom. They've hiked through nature preserves, skateboarded together, canoed across several rivers, and are planning many more escapades in the future—this is certainly not the life of a helpless dog.
Kristal describes her as bold, sassy, and hungry for adventure!

Steve is experiencing a whole new world of love with Bitsy in their lives. He loves to take walks with her and spoil her with treats and toys whenever he gets the chance.
In Kristal's words, "He is her number one fan and her biggest champion."
It's clear that Steve has a deep love for his four-legged companion, and he needs no prodding to share that with anyone who cares to listen.
Unfortunately, COVID restrictions last year put a clog in the wheel of their relationship. Steve was separated from his girls. It was a difficult period, and everyone in the family had to accept this new normal.

After more than 365 days of yearning, the wait was finally over, and their reunion triggered a flurry of emotions.

Steve had been away from his love, Bitsy, for what seemed like forever. He was worried that she would forget him, but she picked up his scent when he got closer and went crazy!
"As soon as I got within scent range, she totally lost her mind with joy," he said. It was an unforgettable moment of pure joy, and he couldn't wait to share the experience on Facebook.
