Woman Fulfilled Her Mother’s Last Wish and Surprised Her with a Real-Life Bambi
We all have dreams and wishes. They might involve life-changing goals or even small things like getting an item that you’ve been eyeing for a while.
Then there are wishes made because they might be the last thing you want to see or experience before you can’t anymore. Wishes are usually made by those who sadly have little time left in this world.
If you love the person who made the wish dearly, wouldn’t you try your best to fulfill it? This woman did for her mother.
An elderly woman's last wish was to see a deer one last time. It was a heartwarming wish that they didn’t think was possible to fulfill, but her daughter pulled all the strings she could to make it happen.
The elderly woman was very sick, and they didn’t know how much time she had left. Her daughter, Lisa, disclosed that deer are creatures very dear to her mother, but it was challenging to find one in the first place and ultimately bring it to her.
Eventually, it was the daughter’s effort and intentions that convinced the deer owners she found to help her. They drove for a long time out of kindness to help Lisa make her mother happy.
Bambi was the movie that Lisa’s mother had been enthralled with. It’s a Disney movie about a fawn who doesn’t have the greatest start in life when he and his mother run away from a hunter. He then continues to navigate through life with friends he meets along the way.

The movie had a major impact on the life of Lisa McDonald’s mother. She had memorabilia and merchandise, like clothing featuring Bambi. That’s how much she loved it.
When she got sick, Lisa and her sister tried their best to take care of her, but their mother’s health was slowly deteriorating. One day, their mother disclosed that one of her last wishes was to see a deer again.
This is what she narrated in her post in the Facebook group, The Kindness Pandemic. She even shared that their nursing uniforms, as they fondly called them, were Bambi shirts worn by other supportive people too.

Lisa had tried to find a way to bring a deer to the hospital where her mother was. Bringing a deer anywhere was already hard, so it would require even more effort.
Luckily, she stumbled upon a mobile farm in Melbourne owned by Simone and Chris. Lisa discovered that they owned a deer, and the best part was that the deer was coincidentally named ‘Bambi.’
Once they heard how much Lisa’s mother was deteriorating, they drove for two and a half hours to make it to the hospital.
It was all worth it when they saw the genuine surprise and happiness on Lisa’s mother’s face when they walked in with the deer. It was heartwarming to see her gently pet the animal and cherish the fulfillment of her wish.

Lisa has thanked everyone who showed support, especially the couple who played a significant role in her mother’s surprise. In the end, when her mother passed, they provided a Bambi-designed casket that commemorated what she loved.

Here's the moment the surprise happened
Lisa’s mother may not have spent more time with them as they would have liked, but having her wish fulfilled might have been one of her greatest gifts, even though it was a bit hard to achieve or somewhat different.
Wishes are also a way of showing hope. And in life, hope is important to have, especially when things get tough.
