Euan Rannachan, safely nestled in an underwater cage, filmed the heart-pounding encounter as the massive shark circled just inches away.
Rannachan, who has had a lifelong fascination with sharks, ventured into diving with these majestic creatures in 2016. Since then, he has been captivated by their beauty and ferocity, even starting a company to share the experience with others at Guadalupe Island.
The heart-stopping footage begins innocently enough, with the great white shark swimming toward a bait tethered to the boat. But as the predator lunges for the bait, its eyes roll back, giving it an eerie and lifeless appearance akin to something out of a horror film.
