Brokenhearted Dog Keeps Hugging Pillow With A Portrait Of His Brother Who Passed Away
Love and friendship know no boundaries. Although we humans believe that we are the only ones capable of these emotions, we are terribly mistaken. Animals feel them too, and they can also experience sorrow and pain when their loved ones pass away.
This heartbreaking story of two best friends proves that perfectly. Two sweet-tempered dogs, Spencer and Rocky, were best friends for ten long and happy years.
“They had never spent a night apart,” Beth Fisher, the dogs’ owner, says. “Rocky and Spencer slept in the same bed, ate from the same bowl, and always walked together when they went out.” But then tragedy struck.
Their time together came to a close when Rocky was diagnosed with a tumor. Unfortunately, it was in the advanced stage, and no treatment was possible. The only thing the owner and the vets could do was end his suffering.
“Rocky had to be put down that day,” Beth explained. “It was hard to process Rocky’s sudden death, but we can’t imagine how difficult it must be for Spencer to have lost his little brother.”

Spencer’s sadness was evident, and he needed something to help him overcome it. So Fisher’s dad came up with the idea to order a special pillow for Spencer. It has Rocky’s smiling face printed on it, and it has helped a lot in filling the void that Rocky’s passing left in the poor dog’s heart.
“Spencer has been cuddling with the pillow since it arrived, carrying it from the sofa to his own bed,” Beth said. “He seems a lot more settled now that he has something to cuddle with.”
A pillow can’t bring Rocky back to his family, but it is wonderful to see that Spencer can take at least some comfort from it.
