When shelter owner Joe Kay walked up with an adoption card and told her she had a new home, her reaction said everything before he even finished the sentence.
The video of the moment quickly spread on TikTok, and millions of people fell for the dog’s pure excitement. After a hard life on the street, Starlight was finally getting the chance to settle into a permanent home, and her joy was impossible to miss.
Months later, now known as Moira Rose or Rosie, she is still living her best life with her new family. Here’s how the adoption story unfolded.

After several months of being adopted, Starlight looks happier than ever. She has impeccably adjusted to her new way of life, and it couldn't have been the reverse, judging by the way she is taken care of by her mother.
The owner of the dog, Hannah Gilmore, spoke about how she met Starlight, now known as Moira Rose or Rosie, and how she adopted her. "I had been searching for quite a long time for a golden retriever and applied quickly when Starlight was posted," the woman said. Hannah and Rosie are now inseparable, and the woman said she couldn't have expected a gentler dog.
In any case, we can say the same about Rosie, as she couldn't have found a more adoring mom. "Now, she sleeps from sundown to sunset with her head on my cushion," Hannah said.
She thought her friends were crazy when they said their dog was the perfect companion, but here they are, and she can't imagine life without her golden retriever, Rosie.
