Dog With A Hole In Her Head Gets Rescued And Gains Another Chance At Life
It's a heartbreaking reality to know that dogs, often referred to as "man's best friend," are among the most common victims of neglect and animal abuse. In fact, 65% of animals that experience abuse are dogs, according to Pawsome Advice.
According to People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA), about ten million animals in the United States alone are abused to death every year. It is deeply saddening that some humans still have the audacity to hurt these helpless animals as if they don't have lives of their own.
Abuse of dogs comes in many forms, including physical violence, restraining them with short leashes, yelling, isolating them, and causing them distress even when they have done nothing remotely wrong—and even if they did, it is never right to hurt these creatures simply because one is able to do so. Some people are even heartless enough to abandon them on the streets, knowing that they have little chance of survival.
There are certain heartbreaking instances where injured and dying dogs are left abandoned because their owners do not care enough to ensure they do not suffer any longer. Some of these individuals are the very ones who willingly cause these injuries without any remorse.
This may be the case with the particular dog that the animal rescue organization Mission Paws'ible found...
Meet Michi. She was found in the streets of Bali with a life-threatening head injury. When they looked closely, the hole in her head was already brimming with maggots.
Her injury may have been caused by a person, or she may have gotten into a fight with another dog. However, the organization's priority was the fact that she needed help.
The organization is deeply focused on helping dogs feel safe by providing them with a place where they can rest calmly without any threats. Most of the time, they are taken to heal in the volunteers' personal homes. They provide treatment plans and personalized diets to ensure that the dogs in their care are healed.

Michi's fur had to be shaved because it was full of dirt, mud, and insects.

Given her painful injury, Michi still had a long way to go before becoming a fully happy dog. She was also diagnosed with parvovirus after being moved to foster care.
Parvovirus is highly contagious and can spread through direct contact with an infected dog. It can also spread indirectly.
The dog may have contracted it before being brought to the clinic, and the vaccination may have purged the virus. Fortunately, Michi still had a perfectly functioning immune system, allowing her to overcome it.

With utmost care, she has flourished into a gorgeous Maltese mix and is on her way to her full glory.

She is now living happily and healthily under the care of her mom, Saffron, who drove 1.5 hours just to meet Michi—and fell in love instantly. Michi has a rescue brother named Garscon, with whom she spends her time playing.

Michi now loves living her life by the beach, along with her new family.

She has found a safe haven with a great playmate.

Here she is enjoying her favorite ride.

Thanks to Mission Paws'ible for giving Michi another chance at life!
