After the Washington County Animal Shelter received a call from a stranger about a Pit Bull mix that had shown up at their home and was possibly looking for a safe resting place, the animal control officer immediately picked the dog up and brought him to the shelter.
The dog's name is Blue, and he had been missing for six long months from his home in Tennessee. Despite all his owner's efforts to search for him, he could not be found.
Thinking that he would never have the chance to see Blue again, his owner eventually transferred to Texas for work—a difficult choice.
Blue braved the streets and walked until he reached that stranger's house. The stranger immediately asked for help from the animal shelter.

To help Blue find a forever home, a video of him was posted on the shelter's Facebook page. That video showed Blue playing with his favorite toy, a blue ball.
His owner's friend saw the post and immediately showed it to Blue's dad. It wasn't long before the post received a comment saying, "That is my dog!" This obviously led to the two being reunited.
Blue couldn't hide his excitement and happiness in finally meeting his dad again.
To support his ownership claims, Blue's dad sent several photos of him playing with a similar blue ball, which is Blue's favorite toy. He then drove around 1,200 miles to be reunited with his beloved Blue.
