Jack Russell Terrier Is Miraculously Rescued By Boaters After Floating In The Middle Of The Ocean For 3 Hours
Bruce Knecht and his wife Robin were out on the Gulf of Mexico with their friends Michael and Shawn Sahr when a routine boating trip turned into a rescue mission. About 5 miles off Hernando Beach, Bruce spotted what looked like a buoy drifting in the water, until he realized it was moving.
What they found was a Jack Russell Terrier, floating in the middle of the ocean and wearing an orange reflective vest. The dog paddled toward them as soon as it saw help, and the group quickly pulled the exhausted pup from the cold saltwater.
Then came the part nobody expected, the Coast Guard had already been searching for Jagermeister for hours, and his owner was waiting for a reunion he had almost given up on.

It must have been an excruciating feeling for Jagermeister to be stranded in the middle of the ocean with no hope on his horizon. It wouldn't have been easy for a human who can fully grasp what's happening, let alone for a dog who thought he was just having a blast with his owner.
Fortunately, there is no shortage of good Samaritans, or, in this case, kindly boaters, who are willing to help anyone in need, especially a dog. If not for them, we shudder to think what could have happened to Jagermeister.
However, the couples do not want to take any credit for this touching rescue story. They all credit the owner's foresight in giving Jagermeister a life jacket and wish to remind other pet owners to ensure their companions' safety.
