Jack Russell Terrier Is Miraculously Rescued By Boaters After Floating In The Middle Of The Ocean For 3 Hours
Bruce Knecht, his wife Robin, and their friends Michael and Shawn Sahr were on their annual birthday tradition of boating along the Gulf of Mexico when they spotted something unusual. They were 5 miles out of Hernando Beach when Bruce saw what he initially thought was a buoy.
All they could see was the orange reflective vest floating in the middle of the ocean. They turned the boat instantly once they saw a pair of eyes staring back at them, thinking it was a child in need of immediate help.
Much to the couples' surprise, the buoy they spotted was actually a dog—a Jack Russell Terrier, to be specific—and it paddled faster when it saw potential help! But what was this dog doing floating in the middle of the ocean?
When the initial shock wore off, Bruce pulled the dog out of the cold saltwater. The poor dog looked so defeated and weak that it could barely lift its head.
Shawn Sahr then called the Coast Guard to report what had just happened. It turns out the Coast Guard had been searching for the dog for hours after its owner reported it missing 3 hours ago!
The owner, who had been looking for his dog for hours, welcomed them at the shore. He couldn't believe their luck that their dog, Jagermeister, was rescued despite losing faith that Jagermeister was gone forever.
The rescued dog began licking his owner's face as soon as he reached him. It was a wonderful moment that brought tears to the eyes of Jagermeister's saviors.

It must have been an excruciating feeling for Jagermeister to be stranded in the middle of the ocean with no hope on his horizon. It wouldn't have been easy for a human who can fully grasp what's happening, let alone for a dog who thought he was just having a blast with his owner.
Fortunately, there is no shortage of good Samaritans—or, in this case, kindly boaters—who are willing to help anyone in need, especially a dog. If not for them, we shudder to think what could have happened to Jagermeister.
However, the couples do not want to take any credit for this touching rescue story. They all credit the owner's foresight in giving Jagermeister a life jacket and wish to remind other pet owners to ensure their companions' safety.
