Mother Dog’s Act of Love and Bravery Saves Her and Her Puppies from Freezing in the Cold
When a mother dog is forced to raise newborn puppies in a freezing sewer pipe, every passing moment matters. Hera was alone, exposed to the cold, and doing everything she could to keep her three pups alive.
Her story began near a village in Serbia, where locals noticed her moving in and out of the snow-covered pipe as winter weather turned dangerous. What happened next was a race against the cold, with rescuers trying to reach the family before it was too late.
Hera’s bravery made all the difference, and the rescue effort that followed was just as remarkable.
It was as if she knew that somebody would surely come to her aid—and they did!
This prompted a concerned passerby to contact Mladenovac's dog rescue team. They proceeded to the location and discovered the dog they had heard about.
The Brave Mother Dog Went All Out for Her Kids
They peered inside and discovered three tiny pups! Hera ran out of the pipe to greet Milan, a member of the dog rescue team, and communicated her concern for her poor kids.
Hera and Her Puppies Were Returned to the Dog Rescue Shelter
The puppies were about four weeks old and in excellent condition, but attempting to rescue them proved far more difficult than anticipated. It was at that spot that they named the mama dog Hera.
Hera Delivered Three Puppies in a Sewer Pipe Near a Village in Serbia
Despite their mom reassuring them, these pups were withdrawing from the rescuers because they hadn’t been close to humans before, making it hard to rescue them. The rescuers, however, did not come all that way just to give up on them.
It’s hard not to think of the grieving mother dog who dug beside a grave, until she revealed her puppies in the shocking real reason.
A Little Before It Became Too Dark, They Got the Pups Out of the Pipe
They needed to devise a clever way to save the pups without injuring them, and darkness was approaching! He spent many hours in the cold attempting to remove them with a broom. At last, just before it became too dark, they successfully got the pups out of the pipe without injuring them.
They Received the Necessary Veterinary Care and Were Kept Warm and Comfortable
Hera and her babies were reunited, and the appreciative look in her big eyes was well worth it! Hera and her babies are now safe and secure thanks to the kindness and effort of the locals.
