Starved Dog Manages To Keep Her Puppies Alive For 5 Months In The Freezing Cold
Celeste's story has touched the hearts of people all over the internet. A serene, loving, and sweet dog, she had a difficult start in life when she was cruelly abandoned at just two years old, pregnant, and alone.
Forced to give birth in unsafe conditions and left to roam the streets, Celeste's life wasn't easy, and keeping the puppies alive was going to be an almost impossible task.
Being a street dog is no easy feat, and having to care for five puppies on top of that is a daunting task. Despite her struggles, Celeste did everything in her power to take care of her adorable pups. She sacrificed her well-being, practically wasting away, to ensure her puppies were fed and warm during the harsh winter.
Miraculously, Celeste's puppies were found to be in almost perfect health, despite their challenging early life. The effects of starvation were evident in Celeste's appearance, but she had done everything she could to keep her little ones safe and healthy for over five months.
Now, it was time for Celeste to receive the love and care she so selflessly gave to her puppies. The BC SPCA stepped in to rescue Celeste and her puppies, and they were welcomed into the home of foster mother Elaine Nelson-Hosak.

It seemed as though their paths were meant to cross, as Celeste entered Elaine's life just after the passing of her closest friend. They needed each other – Celeste needed love and care, and Elaine needed the healing comfort of a canine companion.
Under Elaine's loving care, Celeste began her journey to recovery. A careful "refeeding" plan was put in place, and she received six small, nutrient-dense meals every day.
Gradually but steadily, she started gaining weight and strength, putting on 90 pounds. The four of her five puppies were quickly adopted into loving homes and reunited with their new families, which was heartwarming news.
Celeste's response to treatment and her strong bond with Elaine made it clear that she had found her forever home. In the safety and comfort of Elaine's care, Celeste blossomed.
