Baby Dolphin Gets Stranded On The Seashore But A Dog, Leia, Comes Along And Saves Its Life
Dogs have an unwavering love and a readiness to defend their owners, so it’s no surprise why they are referred to as "man's best friend." We frequently hear or read stories about dogs willingly sacrificing their lives to save their owners.
A dog will regard you as a member of its family in the same way that you regard it as a member of yours. They become accustomed to your presence as they grow older and get to know you.
For this reason, dogs do not react well to people who appear to be a threat to their family. A dog is capable of performing all of these things and more for its owners, but have you ever imagined if they can also do this for their fellow animals?
Well, it appears they can also help other animals, as in the story of today. A baby dolphin appeared to be in serious distress as it was stranded on a beach in the United Kingdom.
Thankfully for the helpless creature, a kind-hearted dog came to save it. The owner recorded the heartwarming scene on video!
Now let’s dig into the story proper—The 42-year-old Rich Wilcock took Leia, his 2-year-old Cocker Spaniel, on a fishing expedition on a Sunday morning. But he had no idea that their trip would result in a crucial rescue.
It was a Sunday morning when 42-year-old Rich Wilcock went on a fishing trip with his 2-year-old Cocker Spaniel, Leia

However, as soon as they arrived at Criccieth Beach in North Wales, the tiny dog began to bark. Rich said that Leia started to make a fuss as he stood taking pictures and videos of the scenery.
"She kept coming up to me, barking and nudging me; she must have smelled the dolphin from a mile off," he added.
Rich initially thought the tiny creature was a baby shark, but then he realized it was a dolphin

The owner went to investigate as soon as he sensed that something was wrong. A little while later, he discovered the defenseless sea animal.
Rich first assumed the little creature was a young shark, but later realized it was actually a dolphin. However, he hurried to assist it in returning to the water.
“She kept coming up to me, barking and nudging me; she must have smelled the dolphin from a mile off”

"At first, I thought it was a baby shark; it was only about one and a half feet long, but on closer inspection, I could see the blowhole on top of its head and realized it was a dolphin," the man said. "So, I lifted it gently under the belly and popped it back amongst the waves, and it swam away into deeper water," he added.
Rich and Leia stayed on the beach for over an hour after rescuing the baby dolphin to ensure it wouldn't get beached again.
The quick-thinking rescue was captured on camera, and this is it below
"I combed the beach for a while afterward and stayed for an hour or so to make sure it made it back out to sea," said Rich, who credits his clever dog for saving the marine creature’s life. In his own words, Leia is a "very intelligent dog, more intelligent than most," and we couldn’t agree more.
