This Sad Dog Was Found Abandoned In Parking Lot With Nothing But A Bed For Comfort
Some animals don't have it easy in life. They are maltreated and abandoned, which just rips your heart out.
We can be so cruel to animals, but it's hardly surprising, given the way we treat each other.
Wondering why humans are so cruel is a waste of precious time that could be better spent helping animals. And that's exactly what the people at the Austin Animal Center do.
They help animals and educate people. Their latest rescue was a dog named Bluebelle.
She was found in an empty parking lot in Austin, Texas, where she waited patiently for someone to notice and save her. She was sad, alone, and had no one to comfort her.
The only thing she had was a bed, probably to spare her from lying on the hot concrete. When the animal protection officers arrived, she looked up at them with her sweet, sad eyes and gratefully accepted treats right from their hands.
"You could tell how grateful Bluebelle was to be rescued and brought to the shelter," Stephanie McCutcheon, the marketing and volunteer coordinator at the Austin Animal Center, told reporters. "Bluebelle drank a lot of water upon arriving and slept a lot in the air-conditioned comfort of her bed during the first couple of days."
This is Bluebelle

She was found in an empty parking lot in Austin, Texas.

Watch her on video:
Bluebelle, estimated to be about 9 years old, is receiving treatment for demodectic mange, an infestation of skin mites, and for conjunctivitis in both eyes.
“Besides all the health issues, she is in good spirits,” McCutcheon from the Austin Animal Center says. “She has the cutest little smile and even a little pep in her step. We have wonderful Animal Care staff and vets who have been taking close care of her.”
The Austin Animal Center staff realized that Bluebelle would be more comfortable in a home with a family around her. Thanks to her wonderful personality, she quickly found a foster family.
“Despite looking in rough shape, her heart is still full, and she is extremely welcoming to humans,” McCutcheon said. “She recently had a meet-and-greet with a foster family and their dog, and it went well, so Bluebelle will be leaving the shelter soon!”
She is now getting the care she needs at the Austin Animal Center

Once her health issues are resolved, Bluebelle will begin her search for a forever family. Until then, she will continue to receive the best possible care and love from her foster parents and the Austin Animal Center staff.
And will soon be up for adoption

This poor dog has suffered a lot but now has great and kind people around her who will help her get better and forget all the torment she’s been through.
Bluebelle’s story will have a happy ending, but many animals out there are less fortunate and need our help.
Thousands more are waiting to be adopted… There is much work to be done. Remember – adopt, don’t shop.
