Dog Becomes An Internet Celebrity Thanks To His 12.2 Inch Snout
Some dogs turn heads, and then there is Eris, a Borzoi Wolfhound whose 12.2-inch snout has made her an online sensation. Her long face is impossible to miss, and her owners think it may even be record-breaking.
Lilly and Savannah adopted Eris as a puppy in July 2018, and what started as a simple Instagram scrapbook has grown into an account with 179K followers. Along the way, the unusual dog has become just as famous for her looks as for the joy she brings home.
Now the internet cannot stop staring at Eris, and her giant snout is doing most of the talking.

Lilly and Savannah, a couple from Richmond, adopted her when she was just a puppy back in July 2018. She recently celebrated her second birthday, and her 179K followers on Instagram shared the joy with her owners. They created the account more as a scrapbook and had no idea it would become so popular.
“We were always hoping to share some of the happiness and smiles Eris brings into our house, and in these last few months, it’s felt more impactful than ever. We’re so glad to be able to add a little moment of light to all of the goodness shining through the world,” they said.

The exotic Borzoi dog breed originates from 17th-century Russia. It was a dog for the aristocracy because, besides their interesting appearance, they possess good hunting skills. The aristocracy simply adored organizing large hunting parties. Soon, the dog whose breed name, Borzoi, literally translates as 'fast,' became indispensable.
They are also known as Russian wolfhounds or “walking clouds.” The breed is athletic and independent, reaching heights of 26-30 inches and weighing up to 100 lbs. They are fast, but also quiet and rarely bark. Despite their size and energetic character, they can easily adapt to suburban life.
