Saint, a pit bull living in a homeless camp, was close to death when Heather found him. His body was weak, his skin was covered in parasites, and he had clearly been suffering for a long time.
Heather brought him home as a hospice dog and tried to give him comfort, but Saint wanted nothing to do with food, affection, or help at first. He had shut down completely, and it looked like he had given up on himself.
Then something shifted, and the pit bull who seemed too far gone began to fight back.
