A Little Foal Abandoned By His Mom Shortly After Birth Finds Comfort In The Strangest Place
It is true that sometimes we can find love in the strangest of places. There are times when we feel that everything around us is just so messed up, and then, boom, we find light at the end of the tunnel.
There are some things we discover on the internet that astonish us in ways that we can't help but ponder. That is the story of this rescued foal who has formed the most endearing bond with a big stuffed bear!
This foal, named Breeze, was abandoned by his mother shortly after birth, but luckily for the infant Dartmoor Hill pony, a farmer found him and alerted the Mare and Foal Sanctuary in Devon, UK. When the rescue group arrived at the scene, the newly born foal was in a profoundly painful condition, confused by a lack of hydration, and everyone dreaded the worst.
However, when they brought Breeze to the sanctuary, things began to improve as the little foal obviously received the comfort he needed. It’s just sad to know that this comfort didn't come from his own mother.
At the sanctuary, this foal found solace not from an adoptive mother or the staff members, but from a big teddy bear that his caregivers provided for him.

The executive director of the sanctuary, Syra Bowden, says that, unfortunately, little Breeze doesn’t have his mom around to stay with him, so it's wonderful to see him bonding with his new teddies and snuggling up against them when he wants to sleep. The director also added that these toys serve as extraordinary companions for the foal, providing him comfort during the brief periods when his caregivers are absent.
Say hello to my teddy...

It turns out that the sanctuary often provides stuffed toys to orphaned animals. According to Bowden, they always give their orphaned foals a giant cuddly toy as a companion, as they are very much like human children in that it provides them solace.
This strategy appears to work remarkably well!
His comfort zone
"And here, I can lay my head down in comfort."

After a few critical weeks of receiving a special milk formula and appropriate medication, the little foal is doing extremely well at this point. Furthermore, his teddy bear companion is also to thank for that.
Bowden says Breeze is growing stronger and bigger every day, and he has just begun to venture out into the field to play. He is not frightened of anything and loves being outside.

No one deserves to be abandoned or neglected, especially by their own mother. However, all is well that ends well, as this foal now has a place to call home despite having gone through so much at such a tender age.
