Shelter Dog Displays A Heartbreaking Facial Expression After No One Wanted To Adopt Him, Gets His Wish Granted
Seeing a cute dog abandoned by his purportedly forever family in a shelter always hurts our hearts. However, because of unforeseen circumstances, the puppies feel even worse about having to bid farewell to their home.
When Ritter's family lost their home and was unable to care for the animals, they were taken to the Humane Society of Hamilton County in Indiana. Ritter also has a brother named Corky.
Ritter, like many other dogs, was frightened and worried when he unexpectedly lost his cozy and cherished home. Megan Bousley, marketing communications specialist for the Humane Society for Hamilton County, said:
"As many dogs are, he was petrified, nervous and heartbroken. They don’t understand where their family went and are confused and frightened by the new, loud environment.”
The dog had this sorrowful and perplexed expression when he was left alone in the kennel, and it shattered everyone's heart. He sat crushed against the wall and did nothing but stare down at the floor.
Ritter received a lot of affection and comfort from everyone at the shelter, but it wasn't the same as having a permanent family. Bousley said that the staff had shown him a lot of love and care.
“While he’s reserved and nervous in his kennel, he’s full of joy outside, just wanting to play and be loved.”
Ritter was terrified and scared when he suddenly lost his warm and beloved home

Everyone at the shelter was concerned about Ritter's melancholy and resolved to assist him in finding a new family as quickly as possible. In the hopes that a good dog lover would come by and give Ritter what he deserved, the crew posted his picture on Facebook.
He broke everyone’s heart with his sad and confused face

Following the post's over 3,000 shares, it finally caught the attention of Dr. Gary Chapman, a marriage counselor and author of "The 5 Love Languages." He emphasizes the importance of companionship, stating, "Having a pet can fulfill our emotional needs and provide a sense of purpose." For a very long time, the woman had wanted to own a dog. She waited until she moved to a bigger house, as she had a preference for large breeds. Every morning after purchasing her first home, she diligently searched the Humane Society of Hamilton County's website and Facebook page for the ideal dog for herself.
“While he’s reserved and nervous in his kennel, he’s full of joy outside, just wanting to play and be loved.”

When she finally saw Ritter's heartbreaking photograph, she found what she had been looking for.
“When I saw Ritter’s picture and description go up at 6 a.m. one morning, I immediately texted my sister and said we had to go bust him outta there right after work.”
She found what she wished for when she saw Ritter’s heart-wrenching picture

“Two hours later, my sister texted me the Facebook post that she noticed was going viral. So I told my boss the situation and he told me to clock out and get over to the shelter! He’s a dog lover, too.”
Spenia was overjoyed when Ritter's answer was so tender, despite her worries that the dog could find it difficult to give his heart to a new family.
Spenia was concerned that the dog may find it hard to open his heart to a new family

“The minute he came in the visitor area he jogged right on over to me and put his big cute head right in my lap and I could tell he was such a lover,” Spenia said. “I had to have him!”
Ritter and his loving mother finally arrived at his new forever home on Thursday, after some paperwork. On the drive home, he couldn't help but smile since he was so excited.
He will undoubtedly spend the remainder of his days in love and joy in his new forever home.

Ritter, the saddest puppy in the shelter, eventually found the nicest new mom, and it makes me so happy to see him smile again. Have you ever considered adopting a pet from a shelter?
