Hikers Hear A Dog Crying And Hurry To The Scene - They Save A Dog That’s Been Stranded For Six Weeks
Chloe, a 14-year-old dog, spent six weeks alone on top of a hill before being rescued. The pet's family members made it to the other side of Mount Bross in Colorado, while Chloe did not.
She took off with the family's younger pet. He returned, but she didn't.
The family looked in every direction but came up empty-handed. This is the point in the story when a complete stranger appears.
Someone had heard a pet dog moaning on Mount Bross, according to Trinity Smith, who saw the post on the mountaineering/hiking organization 14ers' Facebook page. The woman was determined to learn more, so she went up the mountain to find that dog.
She heard the dog, but she couldn't see him, so she called for help. Trinity and her partner, Sean Nichols, decided to hike the hill again in the morning, this time spending four hours calling for the dog.
This time, they weren't planning on giving up. After climbing much higher, they heard a faint bark.
“I started giving up, thinking she wouldn’t make it through the evening,” Trinity told CBS News. “After that, I heard that small bark, and my adrenaline started pumping again.”
When they finally found Chloe, she was unwell and afraid.
Chloe was on a hiking trip with her family when she got separated from them while following their other pet. He managed to return to the family, but Chloe didn't.

“We got her!!!!” she wrote to the group. When they found her, Trinity made a post on Facebook. “Sean Nichols and I finally took this sweet, fearful, hungry dog down to security after hours and hours of screaming and climbing. For over a month, the poor dog had been stranded on the top of the mountain.
Chloe’s owners waited anxiously after returning down with her to see whether this was their dog, which had been missing for six weeks and had escaped with another neighborhood dog.
They believed their 13-year-old pooch was gone for good after a month of searching.”
The family had searched for her, but eventually, they gave up, fearing the worst. Several weeks after the event, a group of hikers shared a post on Facebook about hearing a dog moaning in the mountains. That was a sign for Trinity. She decided to go and investigate with her partner, and they found the poor dog.

“We eventually carried this poor baby directly to security after reports of a pet dog wailing and two days of rushing beside a 14er,” she added. “This unfortunate creature had been stuck on a precipice for more than a month. She used to be a 90-pound dog who now weighs 26 pounds. We’re relieved to get her down from the mountain and back with her owners!”

Chloe's owner told 9NEWS that their dog is recovering but will need more time to heal from this terrifying incident. Thanks to a woman who wouldn't give up, this dog got a second chance.
We hope that, with her family's help, Chloe will recuperate and be her cheerful old self again.
