Little Boy Deserted By His Parents, Lives On The Streets And Sings Lullabies To A Homeless Dog
Some stories about life on the street stay with you, and this one has a way of doing that fast. A young boy in Quezon City was seen holding a puppy close and singing a lullaby, a small moment that said a lot about how he lives.
The boy is Rommel, 11 years old, and he has been surviving on the streets after his parents divorced. He sleeps on stones, saves the change he gets from begging, and has found comfort in a little dog named Badji.
What happened next turned a quiet street scene into a story that spread far beyond the Philippines.

Furthermore, the little boy’s greatest dream isn't to return to his previous home but to have the opportunity to go to school once more!

Rommel's life might seem extremely miserable, but he isn't the only one who’s alone on the street. The boy managed to find a little dog and named him Badji.
The boy’s name is Rommel, and he is 11 years old. His little puppy is named Badji

The little boy does his best to take care of Badji and even sings lullabies to him. In return, the puppy brightens the boy's leisure time and provides him warmth whenever he needs it. He has also mentioned that the puppy protects him from children who used to bully him and steal the change he receives when he begs wealthy people walking by. The money he collects is being saved for school supplies, even though he cannot afford to go to school.
This is just like the abandoned puppy bursting into tears when a stranger finally gave it bread.
That bond gave the story an even softer edge.

Maria Cubs was deeply moved by the touching story of this abandoned little boy and his dog. She recorded the moment when Rommel sang a lullaby to his dog and posted it on her social media account.
As you can rightly guess, the video spread across the Internet very quickly, in just a few days, bringing forth a wide outcry from the audience.

Rommel now knows that he’s no longer alone, as he has a true companion who will never betray him nor lead him astray. That is what dogs are known for, they are loyal to a fault, and we love them for it.
Rommel wants to be an actor like his hero, Tom Rodriguez. Thankfully, when Rodriguez heard about Rommel's story, he tracked the boy down and committed to financing his education, helping the child connect with local social welfare.
