Firefighters Came To The Rescue Of Helpless Kittens
A routine stop at a Florida supermarket turned into a tiny rescue mission when a driver heard faint cries coming from his truck. Hidden near the gas tank, a kitten had somehow hitched a ride without anyone noticing.
That discovery brought Hillsborough County Fire Rescue into the picture, and firefighter Elaine Owens stepped in to help. What followed was a careful effort to reach the frightened animal and get it out safely.
The rescue was captured in photos shared by the fire rescue team, and the little kitten’s luck was about to change.

Owens responded, and as seen in the other pictures, she successfully crawled into the vehicle. The kitten was saved and did not sustain any injuries.

It was a close call, but the little cat made it out safely.
The firefighter successfully rescued the 2-month-old cat.

A month before the incident above, firefighters from another team responded to a call.
It’s similar to firefighters freeing a one-week-old puppy stuck under a porch deck, then reuniting it with its mother.
With a smile on her face, she posed for a picture with the little one.
Owen's mom is proud of what her daughter did. Immediately after the rescue, a bystander asked if they could adopt the kitten.

They had to try a different approach to get the animal out.
A month before the incident above, firefighters from another team responded to a call.
It was about a 2-month-old kitten trapped beneath an underground storm drain. The caller mentioned that the poor little one had been stuck there for two days already.
Firefighters alone were not enough for this operation, which is why their team contacted Animal Control for assistance.
The crew of firefighters immediately began the rescue upon arriving at the scene. Acting Captain Jayson Lynn, the crew's leader, had to think outside the box to get the kitten out.
Lynn, together with the animal control team, devised a creative plan. According to him, the rescue needed to be a team effort.
They created a makeshift bridge consisting of a couple of household baseboards and a towel. The cat was already hungry.
To entice the kitten, they placed food at the top. Unfortunately, this method didn't work.

Thanks to the firefighters, the animal control team, and others who helped, the rescue was a success.
