Man Weeps Uncontrollably As He Watched Two Stray Dogs He Rescued Depart For Shelter Homes
George and Irene had already survived a rough start, but the hardest part came when the man who saved them had to let them go. He had been feeding the two stray Pit Bulls near his home, and by the time Hope For Paws arrived, the dogs had started to trust him in a big way.
He wanted to keep them, but with another small dog at home, he knew adoption would be complicated. George was especially fearful, and the bond he formed with the man made the goodbye even more painful.
Then the rescue plan moved forward, and the tears came fast. Read on.
The male Pit Bull is afraid of humans, and it took him a long time to trust the kind man

Neighborhood children threw stones at George and Irene while they were starving and homeless. It wasn’t the way any dog should have lived.
He called Hope For Paws and told them about these two homeless Pit Bulls

He loves the two dogs and wanted to bring them home with him so badly

Irene is George’s moral support, and she always stays by his side. Irene protected her best friend by standing guard outside his pet carrier.
Irene was beaming because she knew she was on her way to a better life and had her best friend by her side to celebrate. It was a joyous ride to a brighter future with her best friend, George.
That goodbye hit him hard.
“I feel so horrible. I gained his trust, and now I’m backstabbing him.”

Irene is all smiles because she knows she’s headed towards a better life

Back at the dog shelter, the dogs were given a bath before being examined by a veterinarian. Sadly, George was diagnosed with bone malignancy!
Because it was diagnosed so early, he was able to undergo amputation. In many ways, that caring man saved George!
George is diagnosed with bone cancer, but he’s been able to have a life-saving surgery

The vet had to surgically remove one of George’s legs to prevent the malignancy from spreading, but he was fine afterward. Dogs perform admirably on three legs, and some can even outrun those on four!
When Irene sees George, her tail and happy cries say it all!

When George was well enough to be discharged from the hospital, he was reunited with his best friend. Irene’s tail and joyful cries said it all when she saw George!
George is starting to warm up to everyone he meets

Both dogs have begun to receive excellent care, and they are being taught how to be pets rather than ‘street dogs.’ George began to warm up to everyone he met, and he realized that most people are good and that it is safe to trust them.
George and Irene are a bonded pair who were fortunately adopted out together. Please give us your reactions and comments in the comments section below.
