Adorable Grandpa Has A Matching Goatee With His Adorable Dog
Some dog owners really do end up looking like their pets, and Hung Lay Quon and his little companion are a perfect example. The 87-year-old grandfather and his adorable dog, Lily, share matching goatees that make them look like they were made for each other.
There is a sweet story behind the pair, too. After Quon lost his longtime dog in early 2020, Lily helped fill that empty space in a way the whole family could see.
Now this matching duo has everyone smiling, and the resemblance is almost too cute to handle.
In early 2020, Hung Lay Quon lost his dog of 14 years. Losing a dog you've had for over a decade is a rough blow, no matter who you are.
Quon's family could see how much it pained him to lose his best friend.

Tiana Sandberg, Quon’s granddaughter, told The Dodo in an interview:
"She was his happiness. They would go on walks four times a day, and when she passed, he was so heartbroken that he would walk with her ashes."
After some time to grieve and heal, Quon began the search to find another dog. Like many dog lovers, he wanted to provide a loving, happy life for another dog. With the support of his family, Quon visited multiple shelters, looking for the right dog. He had almost given up hope when they found Lily.

"I stared at them both bonding with their goatees and bushy eyebrows, and it was like my grandpa had found his twin," Sandberg said.
They turned out to be the perfect pair, and not just because of their adorable, matching goatees. Their personalities were perfectly compatible, complementing each other in all the right ways.
Amusingly, Quon himself didn't even realize at first that he and Lily looked so much alike!
That family reaction made the resemblance impossible to miss.
Quon’s search for a new best friend hits close to home with the Malamute that befriends a duck.
Sandberg explained what it was like when the family showed Quon a picture of the duo together:

Not only are Quon and Lily naturally adorable together, but the neighbors have begun to look for the pair on their walks because they can see how cute and loving they are.

People around them clearly noticed the charm right away.
Sandberg said:
"Lily is always by his side, whether it's at dinner or when he's sitting on the couch. They go on a walk when they wake up, after breakfast, before dinner, and before bed. The whole neighborhood adores them and is always keeping a lookout for them, especially during these times when prejudice is still prevalent in society."

Lily has helped Quon heal from the passing of his long-time pupper pal, and in turn, their bond and friendship is something enviable.
"Their relationship is the cutest bond I have ever seen," Sandberg said.
