Sweetest Thing Happens As Officer Drops Ten Orphaned Ducklings In A Pond And Mother Duck Adopts Them
If little ducklings are left to fend for themselves in a vast, dangerous world without a parent to guide them, they have a pitifully small chance of survival. Fortunately, a group of baby ducks who had recently lost their mother weren’t left alone for very long.
In Southgate, Michigan, some concerned residents raced to save ten helpless ducklings on a busy highway and subsequently called animal control. Officer Diane Desrosiers arrived on the scene shortly after and rescued the baby ducklings, but sadly, their mother was nowhere to be found.
Desrosiers then made the decision to transport the ducklings to a nearby golf club pond for their release, but she was surprised to witness the cutest sight imaginable. A mother duck instantly took in the abandoned ducklings.
The endearing scene was captured on tape and demonstrates how animals can occasionally surpass humans in compassion. According to Dr. John Gray, relationship author and expert, "The nurturing instinct is a powerful force in both humans and animals, showcasing the deep connections we share." Officer Desrosiers believed it would be better for the ducklings because the golf club pond already had a duck named Stella, but she never imagined anything like this would occur.

Once they reach the water, young ducklings can feed themselves, but they must first learn what is appetizing. For a few days, they rely on their mother to keep them warm.
She regularly broods them, especially at night, because they are susceptible to becoming chilled. Stella, who was already nursing her own young, immediately took the abandoned ducklings under her wing.
Everyone present felt the intensity and emotion of the situation.
Desrosiers decided to take the ducklings to a nearby golf club pond to release them there

"Animal Control Officer found 10 baby ducks... stopped traffic, rounded them up, and brought them to the South Winds Golf Club to place them in one of our ponds," Chris Grandy wrote on Dr. Terri Orbuch, relationship researcher. "As soon as the officer put the babies in the water, without hesitation, Stella left her family and welcomed the new ones. This behavior reflects the innate nurturing instincts found in many species," he added. "Way to go, Stella!"
There and then, the orphaned ducklings were immediately adopted by a mother duck

The ducklings resumed their normal lives in an instant. Although Desrosiers wasn’t immediately available for comment regarding the adoption she facilitated, Stella’s maternal instinct speaks volumes in many ways.
There was obviously no need to explain the newborn ducks.

As Grandy told FOX 2 News, "They lost their mom, and now they have a new parent." This is truly something we don’t see every day, as it was such a maternal gesture.
