An Old Dog With A Large Tumor Finally Gets A Chance At A Better Life After Being Neglected
A neglected black dog named Holden was taken in by a nearby animal shelter in Atlanta, Georgia, in the spring of 2019. He was so close to passing out from starvation and appeared to have no hope of surviving, but later, he was able to experience happiness once more, owing to kindness and love.
Let's delve into the heartbreaking details of this poor but endearing fuzzy angel! When the police stopped a drug raid at a house, they discovered a weak, filthy dog there.
They took him into custody and brought him to the local animal shelter. Unfortunately, there was no accommodation for him because the facility had already run out of space.
While other staff members sought assistance, caregivers wrapped him in a blanket and placed him in the intake area. Holden was shaken and terrified.
He weighed only 25 pounds, which is 15 pounds less than a typical member of his breed. He attempted to grasp anything in a bowl or that looked like food.
Holden felt weak and hungry. The poor little guy was already traumatized by all of this when the X-ray footage revealed a sizable tumor in his abdomen. It weighed around seven pounds, according to the vet, who also forbade the dog from ingesting food.
The story of a miserable but adorable furry angel

Holden appeared delighted and wagged his tail enthusiastically after being bandaged and fawned over by a nurse, which was incredibly and heartwarmingly surprising given that he was in limbo, emaciated, and unwell.
Carers wrapped him in a blanket and put him in the intake area

Holden was scared and shaky at first

Furthermore, he responded ecstatically to any voice that seemed friendly and compassionate toward him. Even the smallest acts of kindness were appreciated by him.

The vet performed an immediate operation to treat and remove Holden's tumor. He awoke from the operation after the procedure had gone smoothly.
His tail responded immediately to the sound of a kind voice, despite the fact that he was still experiencing anesthetic side effects and couldn't lift his head yet.
He reacted enthusiastically to every voice that sounded gentle

He was also a good and delightful young dog throughout the therapy. It was then time for Holden to adjust to his new life.
Releash Atlanta, a non-profit volunteer organization that works hard to rescue dogs from high-kill shelters all around the state of Georgia, took care of him.

Holden was saddened by having to say goodbye to the people at the vet, and when Ashley voluntarily picked him up, he sat in the back of her car. She then hugged him and took pictures with him to cheer him up.
After that, Holden received a temporary roof from Melissa Lentz, a seasoned foster mother for timid young pups, who also assisted in his recovery.

He quickly became buddies with the nine other puppies housed in Lentz's foster home as well as her daughter.

Holden was never a picky eater, according to Lentz. He always had a strong appetite, which aided in his rapid recovery. Additionally, the veterinary clinic reported some positive news: Holden's tumor appeared to be benign based on early examinations.

Later on, Lentz found Holden a happy and loving family after receiving the biopsy results and completing numerous dental and neutering procedures. If you agree that his terrible story had a satisfying conclusion and that he now has a fresh start in a joyful life, drop a comment below!
