Shelter Puppy Won't Leave Deaf and Blind Sister Behind, and Now They're Looking for a Home Together
Star and Denver were born into a litter of eight, but these two puppies ended up with a bond that is hard to miss. While their siblings have already headed off to new homes, this pair is still waiting for the right family to come along.
Denver has taken on the role of guide and protector for his sister Star, who is deaf and mostly blind. The shelter says the two are inseparable, and Star seems to lean on Denver every step of the way.
Now the question is simple, can anyone give both puppies the home they deserve together?
A couple was walking along the road in Louisiana when they stumbled upon a litter of eight pups alongside their mother.
It appears that the large family was unceremoniously abandoned by an unknown person by the side of the road to fend for themselves. Fortunately, the kind-hearted couple decided to foster the entire family until they could find forever homes for them.

When the pups finished nursing, they were taken in by the Helen Woodland Animal Center in San Diego, which set out to find all the pups their forever homes.

Star and Denver were among those eight pups, but what makes them special is their deep and unique connection with each other.

While six of the eight puppies have fortunately found their new families, Star and Denver are still looking.
The siblings can only be adopted together for a very special reason.

This is similar to the deaf dog who found a forever home and never returned to the shelter.
Star is unfortunately deaf and mostly blind, and Denver has become his sister's ultimate guide and protector.
He won't let Star out of his sight for even a minute, always ensuring that she is safe.

Star also draws a lot of strength to explore the world around her from her brother's presence, and the two are completely inseparable.
Just watching them explore and play together makes it obvious how special their connection is.

Thanks to Denver, Star can enjoy her puppy life like any normal puppy would.
He helps her engage in all the "normal" activities any other dog would do, such as running, playing, and exploring.

Kelleher, the social media manager for the HWAC, says that Denver constantly checks on his sister and ensures she knows he is always nearby.
“He does this by nudging her,” she said.

At the moment, the brother and sister duo are still waiting for their forever homes, but judging by how lovely they both are, the shelter is confident this will happen soon.
Star and Denver definitely share a bond like no other, and we're pretty sure this bond will last them a lifetime. That's why it would be hard to imagine separating these two.
Hopefully, they'll soon find a family that will love them, take care of them, and treasure the special bond that these two share.
After all that, watch how a rescue dog refuses to let go of the adopter who saved him.
