Fireman Visits Abused And Neglected Dog He Rescued, And The Dog Clings To Him In Love Without Letting Go
Chunk was only three months old when a firefighter found her tied to a tree in Sacramento, weak, frightened, and barely hanging on. What should have been a routine emergency call turned into a rescue that stayed with Mike Thawley long after the scene was over.
After he brought the tiny Pit Bull to safety, he could not stop thinking about her condition or the life she had already been forced to endure. When he came back to the shelter and Chunk rushed toward him, the bond between them was impossible to miss.
Her story only gets sweeter from there, and the shelter reunion is the part that really sticks.

She had been physically abused by the scumbag owner who had abandoned her, and her hairless skin was itchy all over from mange. Mike took the shivering dog to the station and bathed her.
He then entrusted her to the “Front Street Animal Shelter” and hoped for her quick recovery.
Mike found that while Chunk was alive, her condition was not very promising

Mike, on the other hand, couldn’t get the brutalized little dog out of his head. He returned to the shelter the next day to see how she was doing, and when Chunk leaped out of the kennel to greet Mike, his heart melted!
The grateful girl recognized her rescuer right away and showered him with kisses!
It’s the same kind of fast, neighborhood-backed rescue as the woman who found the dog after the cold note.

When Mike’s wife, Carla, and his three daughters met Chunk, they knew she was meant to be their furry companion. The family waited several weeks for Chunk to recover completely before bringing her home.
