Fireman Visits Abused And Neglected Dog He Rescued, And The Dog Clings To Him In Love Without Letting Go
Animals deserve to be treated with compassion; they are not just lesser creatures who scurry around us crying for food. They are living, breathing individuals who have feelings like we do, think thoughts like we do, and are comparable to us in numerous ways.
To begin with, it is well established that animals have their own thoughts. They think about where they live, recognize people they know, and identify objects that can assist them.
Not only that, but they can also show their emotions. Dogs wag their tails when they’re happy, and cats purr when they’re treated nicely, just as we feel happy and laugh when we’re having fun.
When a dog is neglected or abused, it winces and puts its tail between its legs to show pain, sorrow, and frustration. We are grateful that there are people in the world like Mike Thawley who understand how much love and care these animals deserve.
Chunk, the Pit Bull, was only three months old when she was discovered and rescued by firefighter Mike Thawley after being tied to a tree on a rainy day in Sacramento. Chunk was truly destined to survive.
Firefighter Mike Thawley was on his way to an emergency call when he came across Chunk, who was lying almost dead beside a tree. After responding to the emergency call, Mike returned to check on Chunk.
Mike discovered that, while Chunk was still alive, her situation was not encouraging.

She had been physically abused by the scumbag owner who had abandoned her, and her hairless skin was itchy all over from mange. Mike took the shivering dog to the station and bathed her.
He then entrusted her to the “Front Street Animal Shelter” and hoped for her quick recovery.
Mike found that while Chunk was alive, her condition was not very promising

Mike, on the other hand, couldn’t get the brutalized little dog out of his head. He returned to the shelter the next day to see how she was doing, and when Chunk leaped out of the kennel to greet Mike, his heart melted!
The grateful girl recognized her rescuer right away and showered him with kisses!

When Mike’s wife, Carla, and his three daughters met Chunk, they knew she was meant to be their furry companion. The family waited several weeks for Chunk to recover completely before bringing her home.
What a sweet happy ending for Chunk! Watch Chunk cling desperately to Mike at the shelter in the video below! So moving!
