Adorable Seal Was Surprised With A Giant Ice Fish Cake On His 31st Birthday, And He Loved It
Yulelogs the seal just got the kind of birthday party most animals could only dream about, and the photos are as sweet as they sound.
The 31-year-old resident of the Cornish Seal Sanctuary was treated to a giant ice cake packed with fish, and he was more than happy to dig in. His story goes back decades, when he was rescued as a pup, released, and later found struggling to survive on his own.
Now he is back where he is clearly loved, and his birthday celebration says everything about how far he has come.
As it turned out, when Yulelogs was rescued for the second time, he weighed in at only 132 lb (60 kg), rather than the standard 551 lb (250 kg).

"It was apparent he needed care, so the RSPCA asked the Cornish Seal Sanctuary if they would provide a permanent home for him," reads the website.

Now, at the ripe old age of 31, Yulelogs is a healthy, happy, and energetic seal, completely adored by everyone at the sanctuary.
And it turns out this birthday was quite a milestone for Yulelogs and his friends, as, in the wild, a male grey seal tends to live only around 25 years.

Yulelogs absolutely loved his birthday cake.
It was a great form of enrichment for him too, since it took a bit of thinking to get the fish out of the cake.
Here's how people reacted.
"Yulelogs absolutely loved his birthday cake," said Georgina Shannon, the marketing and media coordinator for the sanctuary.

"It's a great form of enrichment for him as well, as it requires a bit of thinking on how to get the fish out of the cake!"
