Sad Shelter Dog Gets Adopted, And Her Happiness Is Simply Heartwarming
Ava arrived at the Hoke County Animal Shelter in North Carolina looking completely defeated, and it did not take long for staff to see how much she needed a fresh start.
Her former owner had surrendered her, and the sudden change left the dog scared and heartbroken. But after a little time, a new chapter began, and Ava’s adoption turned into one of those moments people do not forget.
Kristi Pylant was on shift when Ava came in, and the shelter dog’s sweet goodbye made the whole scene even more memorable.
Pylant took Ava in, and now she was responsible for introducing her to her new family.
It’s like the shelter dog who hugged her best friend right before they were about to be put down, and got saved.

Ava gave her paw to Pylant, as if she were trying to say, “Thanks and bye!”
"It was so sweet for her to offer me her paw when she was getting adopted," Pylant says.
Ava is now happy in her new loving home, and the sad shelter episode was just that, an episode.
