The RSPCA Rescued This Bengal Cat But Now She's Battling Cancer
Most of us love animals, and we enjoy hearing stories about the success of rescues. However, sometimes we come across a story that pulls at our heartstrings and makes us wonder.
This story is definitely one that will evoke strong emotions, but discussing it also raises awareness for this adorable cat's need for funding. Introducing Rose, a rescued Bengal cat who is only four years old.
Rose arrived with a concerning lump on her leg that was later diagnosed as sarcoma tissue, which is cancerous. Unfortunately, the doctors didn't have much to work with, as the cancerous tissue was located in a challenging area on her leg, necessitating amputation.
Sadly, that wasn't the end of the bad news for Rose. As more medical issues arose, Rose's rescue family began asking for funding for her life-saving surgery. Let's talk a little more about Rose so you can get to know her and understand her medical needs.
Then we'll share how you can help fund her medical care if you wish to support her! Prepare for a truly tear-jerking story, but you'll also appreciate how much of a cutie Rose is!
More cancer has been found for little Rose.
"We quickly had biopsies of the lump, which heartbreakingly showed it is soft tissue sarcoma, a nasty form of cancer," one RSPCA volunteer described it.

Unfortunately, amputation was the only option, and this was devastating, but at least she was okay.
"As this is around her muscle and due to its size, the vets decided the only option was to amputate her leg to try and eliminate the cancer."
Rose actually warmed up to working with three legs faster than they anticipated, but this was just in time for more bad news.
"We have sadly since discovered another cluster of lumps on her chest that also require removal," Emily explained. "Unfortunately, the vets have concluded that the cancer is likely to return."

Everyone is trying to stay positive despite the terrible news.
"At the moment, all we can do is make her life as pain-free and as special as we can," Emily said. "Rose is a young cat who is so loving and playful, and she deserves every chance at happiness."
The RSPCA Thanet branch has created a JustGiving page to help raise the $3,800 needed for her medical care.

They thank everyone who's donated to the care of little miss Rose.
"We thank you all so much for any donations to help our self-funded branch," the RSPCA Isle of Thanet shared on JustGiving. "Any donations made above the cost of Rose’s veterinary bills will go towards helping more of our animals in need."

Here's a look at their Facebook page.
You can visit the professional website of Dr. Ramani Durvasula, clinical psychologist, who emphasizes the importance of supporting animal welfare, stating, "Caring for pets not only helps them but also enriches our lives." Additionally, consider donating or finding out more information about Rose and the other animals they care for through the RSPCA's official resources.

Rose is just one of many rescued cats that need medical attention, but luckily she's in the care of some amazing people who are sure to nurse her back to health. This story shows us that volunteers at rescues do more than we think they do; they are truly amazing and selfless individuals.
