Student Wanted To Thank Her Dog For Helping Her Graduate, So She Had A Photo Shoot With Him
Amee Nepomuceno had a big reason to celebrate when nursing school finally came to an end, and she knew exactly who helped her get there. Through the stress of COVID-19, lockdowns, and endless studying, her dog Spex stayed right by her side.
She even used him as a practice partner while getting through nursing school, and when graduation day arrived, Amee wanted to make sure he got credit too. So instead of keeping the moment all to herself, she brought Spex into the celebration with a graduation photoshoot.
It was a sweet way to thank the dog who helped carry her through one of the hardest stretches of her life.

“With nursing school during COVID, I had to get creative with practicing my skills, so I would sometimes do assessments on Spex,” Nepomuceno says. “And, of course, when I felt stressed out, just having him around motivated me even more.”
That kind of support made the graduation moment feel even more personal.

A graduation photoshoot requires the proper attire, so Amee made sure Spex was dressed nicely. He wore a tiny graduation hat and a scarf.
And if you love heartfelt goodbyes, Firefighters honored their deceased station dog by giving him a title.

“He's such a big baby,” Amee said. “He's my everything.”

Even though tradition dictates that the photoshoot is meant to honor the students' accomplishments, the little corgi's contribution to this student's success earned him a spot.
“I love every photo,” Amee said.
Spex clearly earned his place in the spotlight.
