This situation is one that you might be kind of surprised about, or maybe you won't be. Gifts and surprises are those things that you either love or you hate, but certain gifts maybe just shouldn't have been given.

One thing about gifts is that people have very distinct ways of giving them and their idea of a gift might not be exactly what you were expecting. People sometimes give really odd gifts because it's what they would like to get, or they thought maybe you'd appreciate the gift.

This story we'll be diving into today was shared on Reddit via the husband in this situation and he goes on to explain a gift that his wife got for him after his dog passed away. However, his response wasn't exactly what she was expecting.

I think all of us can agree that it's super awkward to try to accept a gift or look happy about a gift if it's not truly something that you'll use or that you like. Plus, the circumstance of this gift might make it even harder to show that you appreciate it.

I'm not sure how common this is but I definitely don't think it's that common.

Obviously she did it out of kindness, but that doesn't mean it was the right choice.

I, too, would be horrified so I really don't blame OP at all.

Ultimately she should've brought it up some way for him to tell her how he felt about it.

Some people just have different ideas of what a nice gift or nice thing is.

I could definitely see this as being quite traumatic especially if you're not expecting it.

Simply said but I think this is how most of us would be.

Safe to say that it's not a common thing for their culture.

Now this comment was just too much and too funny to not share.

We can all agree that yes she had good intentions, but does that make it right?

Well, this was interesting. Now that we've read about this situation I think most of us are in agreeance with each other that this was a bit of a weird gift, especially without discussing it.

I don't think that this "gift" is like anything I've ever seen given before, but at least she had good intentions.
