Tiny Tabby Cat Was Miraculously Rescued From A 30-Foot-High Highway Beam
A tiny tabby cat ended up in one of the most dangerous spots imaginable, perched 30 feet above the ground on a highway beam in southwest Houston.
The Houston SPCA and Harris County Precinct 1 deputies worked together to reach the kitten, using a traffic light installer to get close enough for a rescue. It took patience, careful maneuvering, and a lot of time, but the little cat was finally brought down safely.
By the end of the six-hour effort, Lucky had already earned her name, and the rest of her story only gets better from there.
Lucky Rescued

No one can tell how she got 30 feet above the ground on a highway support beam in southwest Houston

The Houston SPCA said a kitten was discovered trapped on a freeway beam, and @third_coast_services stepped in to help after Sgt. Loewen with @pctconstable asked for assistance reaching the helpless cat.
A small trap was placed high along the beam for the scared feline, where she eventually made her way inside. After over 6 hours of a team effort, she is now safely back on the ground and in the care of veterinary staff at the Houston SPCA! The little orange tabby suffered only minor scrapes and bumps.
That rescue took patience from everyone involved.
But It Was Clear She Needed Help

And It Came

The beautiful baby is now safe and sound, and she was named Lucky because… well, it’s obvious. She was extremely fortunate to be spotted in the first place, a cat so small and so high up in the air!
What were the chances? But she is a fighter.
The noise up there must have been horrendous, but she wasn’t afraid, and she managed to cling tightly to the beams. However, it is still unclear how she got there.
Maybe it was a case of animal cruelty, and someone just tossed her like a piece of garbage over the side of the road. Either way, we are so glad she is okay now.
It’s a lot like the young kitten whose head got stuck in a truck frame.
