This Rescue Dog With A Toy Unicorn Obsession Was Sent The Most Special Gift
Rosie, a rescued puppy with a serious soft spot for unicorn toys, has turned one tiny plush into a full-blown family obsession. What started as a simple gift quickly became the one thing she wanted with her at all times.
Her mom, Taylor McDonald, says Rosie is the family clown, but when it comes to her unicorns, she is surprisingly gentle and protective. The toy collection has seen plenty of wear and tear, and Rosie makes it very clear when she is due for a replacement.
Then the company behind the toy stepped in with a surprise that was perfect for this very specific pup.
"She loves these unicorns," Taylor said. "I'm talking about how she has to have one at all times, carries one everywhere, and sleeps with them. As a result, we luckily had six backups for wear and tear (originally)."
Rosie is always very gentle with her unicorns. She treats them as if they were her own tiny babies.
However, being Rosie's favorite toys, the unicorns still get worn after a while. "Since our other dog, Bindi, is a toy destroyer, we often have to keep them up high if no one is there to be a 'unicorn bodyguard' (yes, that's what this has come to)," Taylor said.
That “never give up” energy reminds us of Zelda’s 97-day escape to reunite with her foster mom.
"As a result, at around 5 p.m. each night, Rosie will make it very, very clear if she doesn't have a unicorn in her possession." It seems Rosie is addicted!
Taylor posted about Rosie's unicorn obsession on her Instagram to showcase how adorable it is, but when ZippyPaws reached out to her in response, she was shocked! "I have never been more excited because I knew how excited Rosie would be," Taylor said.
The company wanted to send Rosie a unicorn care package. "Her previous unicorns had really had it by this point, so they couldn't have arrived at a better time," Taylor said.
When the package arrived, there were so many unicorns inside that Taylor decided to lay them all out on the bed to surprise Rosie. And Rosie couldn't have been happier with her gift!
"It was as if she couldn't believe her little eyes," Taylor said. "'These are ALL for me?!' After checking them all out, she then proceeded to make sure to squeak every. single. one. I usually put them all away so that we have spares (except for maybe one or two), but that day I let her have them all."
"She pretty much basked in all of her unicorn glory. I'm pretty sure I heard squeaking in my sleep because she didn't stop all day!"
Well, now Rosie's family doesn't have to worry about her unicorns getting lost or worn. She has plenty to go around, and Rosie is one happy pup!
