Woman Thought She Spotted A 'Vintage Fur Hat' In Thrift Shop, But It Ended Up Being Even Better
TikTok user @thethriftymama was browsing a New York City thrift store the other day when her eyes landed on something very pretty and fluffy. On top of one of the display shelves, she found what appeared to be a vintage fur hat at first glance, it seemed in mint condition for something that looks like it came out of the 1950s.
@thethriftymama was happy that she managed to spot the hat before everyone else, but upon further investigation, she realized that it was not even a hat. She discovered something quite pleasant and it took her completely by surprise.
The fur hat ended up being a living, breathing cat, even better than a boring hat. The adorable orange cat is actually one of the employees at the thrift shop, he was only taking a nap since he was tired from all the work he was doing that day.
Customers of the thrift shop are all familiar with the cute orange cat, he managed to leave quite the impression on them. He's even been mentioned many times in the online reviews of the thrift store, people always make sure to include him in their reviews because he's the most important employee of the store.

@thethriftymama was about to pick up this "hat" but backed down at the last second when she realized it might be something else.
It surely does look like a hat from far away, and unless you are a regular customer of this thrift shop, spotting a cat there will be the last thing you would expect.
"I swear my heart jumped into my throat," she said.
He was taking the deepest nap of his life and had no idea people mistake him for a hat.
He stands tall and watches over the store, but he mostly takes naps.
He takes time in between his naps to stare at customers with judgy stares. He's a cat, after all.

People obviously love him and see him as a very crucial aspect of that thrift shop.

He's the biggest star in the store, and he's well aware of it!
Ultimately, @thethriftymama never got to buy the vintage hat she'd thought she'd found in that thrift store. But she got something even better, and we all got to see it because she was kind enough to share it with us. She definitely did not leave disappointed and still got something in the end.
Every thrift shop should have its own cat employee that makes sure all customers get their dose of kitty cuteness whenever they visit. It's free therapy that could attract more customers and keep the kitties company at the same time.
