As fate would have it, he was saved in time by his little sister, Jessie. She was a blessing in disguise for him.

Mr. Byron Thanarayen and his wife became worried upon returning home to find Chuck all wet. To ensure that nothing untoward had happened to their pets, they decided to review their security footage. When they played it, they learned that Chuck had slipped into the water, but at that moment, Jessie leapt forward to save him.
"We were stunned," Thanarayen told The Dodo.
They realized after watching the tape that Chuck had tried to get out of the pool on his own but had not succeeded. In the meantime, Jessie was on the lookout for an opportunity to steer him out.
Jessie took some time to rescue him, but due to her courage and determination, she eventually succeeded.

Amazing Moment When Jessie Rescues Chuck
After watching the CCTV footage, they realized how Jessie had been a blessing in saving Chuck that day. Without her prompt help, he would have drowned in the swimming pool.
"We had no idea Jessie was such a little hero," Thanarayen said. "I mean, she is a very lovable, caring, and warm-natured dog. But we never thought that she had that hero streak in her."

The Thanarayens shared that such an incident of falling into the swimming pool had never happened before with their dogs. However, keeping this danger in mind, they have decided to secure the area to keep their dogs safe.
In the meantime, Jessie is basking in her glory as the Savior of the Day.
"She received lots of treats, hugs, and kisses, and still receives so much attention and appreciation," Thanarayen remarked. "She loves Chuck a lot. I always knew she was a special dog, and this just proves it."
