Young Girl Stops On Rainy Sidewalk To Help A Wet, Stray Puppy On Her Way Home From School
A rainy sidewalk, a small stray puppy, and a 12-year-old girl with no audience, that was all it took to turn an ordinary walk home into something unforgettable. Kindness does not always arrive with fanfare, sometimes it shows up quietly in the middle of a storm.
In Brazil, Mayane Rodrigues noticed a young girl stop outside her apartment while heading home from school. The child set aside her umbrella, took off her backpack, and removed her jacket after spotting a wet puppy on the ground.
What happened next was simple, but it was enough to leave a lasting impression. Read on.

The girl who rescued the puppy is Cibely Stiegelmair; she is only 12 years old.
“It all happened so quickly. It was very emotional,” Rodrigues told The Dodo. “I sent the video to a friend who shared it with a neighborhood group, and then I found out who the angel was.”
“I was startled when she arrived with the puppy because she was very sweaty and wet from the rain,” Rejane Stiegelmair, Cibely's mom, told The Dodo.
“There was blood on her shirt. I thought she had been hurt, but she told me she found the puppy injured.”
And just like the cyclist who rescued abandoned puppies, bike-helmet heroics helped save the pups.
Fortunately, the puppy's condition was not too bad. He only needs a little love and care to heal faster.
"Cibely has a very good heart. She feels very sorry for stray dogs," Rejane said. "If she could bring them all home, she would."
The dog was named Pretinha by Cibely and has been welcomed with open arms into the family.
"As parents, we are proud of Cibely and always have been," her mom said. "But now we're even prouder!"

No one knows for sure what caused Pretinha to become stranded on the sidewalk that day, but one thing is certain: it led her to her forever home with the most loving people she could ever ask for.
