Kitten Rescued from Drowning in the Gulf of Mexico by a Boat Crew
If there's one thing we can always count on to restore our faith in humanity, it's the undeniable fact that people have the heart to save animals from meeting their untimely demise. These poor creatures truly deserve the world, and it's heartwarming to see that individuals still go to great lengths to give them a better life.
Kindness is such a simple concept and completely free of cost—and it's always uplifting to see humans using it to help animals. No matter how much of a sinner you may be, you can't resist patting an innocent cat or dog when they approach you.
That being said, there's a story of kindness surrounding a cat who was saved from drowning by a nearby cruise. It demonstrates that one simple act of kindness can beautifully change a life.
Everything started when a ship, Still Flyin Charters, departed for a cruise along Perdido Pass in Orange Beach. The people on the boat mistakenly thought they saw a sea turtle as they passed Perdido Bay and the Gulf of Mexico, but soon realized it was actually a drowning kitten they had spotted.
Fortunately, they were quick to turn the boat around to rescue the poor kitten.
This poor kitten was rescued from drowning in the water. It looked so helpless and traumatized.

The people on the boat comforted the kitten to warm it up. He was so tiny and looked and felt weak.
“He was struggling to stay awake,” said Captain Steve Crews, the owner of the sailing company. It was heartwarming that the crew did not hesitate to help the drowning kitten and spare him from such a tragic fate.
They quickly dried the kitten and made him feel warm, bringing him on board safe and sound. They comforted the kitten to calm him down as they returned to shore.
“Our catch of the day,” said the crew. “We caught him just outside the pass in the Gulf.” The people on the boat guessed that the poor kitten was probably “sucked out by the tide” as he was washed far out to sea.
As they calmed the kitten, the crew discovered that he was a young male, estimated to be only several months old.

They posted this on their Facebook page.

We're grateful for the people who made this kitten feel safe and sound once again!

The kitten is still traumatized and struggling to get back on his feet, but he's recovering.
One of the sailors tried to take full responsibility for the kitten, but the animal refused to stay with him. Crews decided to adopt the kitten, and he, along with his family, took good care of him in the meantime.
The kitten now accepts food and water from him and his wife, but he is still visibly nervous around them. They even named him “Lucky,” the perfect name for him after his tragic experience.

Life is a priceless gift, and it's wonderful that this poor little kitten was given a second chance at life with the help of good-hearted strangers. The world may be a cruel place, but these kinds of stories are what keep us going—all together restoring our faith in humanity.
