This Sweet Kitten Named Rockette Was Abandoned With Her Umbilical Cord Still Attached
Sadly, not all cats that give birth are prepared (or willing) to be mothers. Many cats reject their kittens and abandon them immediately after birth.
Some kittens will not survive without their mother to nurture them. But thankfully, there are still some lucky ones who are found and cared for by humans with kind hearts.
The sweet kitten Rockette was rejected by her mother and left all alone as a tiny newborn. She was so young that she still had her umbilical cord attached.
When a kindhearted human found Rockette, she wasn't even able to open her eyes. The person then took Rockette to a neighbor, YucateCosa, who became a loving mama to the kitten.
YucateCosa and her family showered Rockette with love. They ensured the kitten was safe, warm, and provided her with the nutrition she so desperately needed.
"On May 31st, a knock on my door brought me joy. My neighbor found this baby hours after birth - the mom rejected her - and brought her to me," YucateCosa said.
How lucky that Rockette was found before it was too late! With her umbilical cord still attached, the tiny baby was in urgent need of nutrition and care.

"I had just adopted a couple of cats, so I had kitten formula in the pantry," YucateCosa said.
"Otherwise, she wouldn't have made it. I made a bottle and fed her every couple of hours."
It was almost as if Rockette was meant to end up with YucateCosa. She already had everything she needed to provide care for the kitten - including the knowledge!

"She was very tiny, and she still had the umbilical cord attached."

"I kept her on a six-pack cooler with a seed cushion for warmth," YucateCosa said.
All of YucateCosa's hard work paid off, and eventually, Rockette began to grow and thrive!

"I sing her 'Love Me Tender' to sleep," YucateCosa said.

"On the 5th day, her eye got infected. The vet squeezed it like a pimple with great skill; from then on, it was eye drops a few times a day, but her eye opened the next day, two days before it was supposed to."
It was clear that Rockette was a fighter. She wasn't going to give up, no matter what challenges her journey threw at her!

"As soon as she started walking around, she found playmates," YucateCosa said.

Even the family puppy welcomed Rockette with open paws!
"Sansa loved her from the start and was very curious about her. Now they are besties," YucateCosa said.

And big cat Cezzarinno has been a big help!
"Cezzarinno is a great babysitter. He helped me stimulate her to pee and poo and kept her clean."

"June 16th, starting to get some color on her ears and paws."
Rockette began to change color as she grew. How cute!

The tiny feline loved her food!
"She took the bottle very well. I fed her at 5 a.m., around 11 or noon, in the evening, at night, and at midnight. It was exhausting, and she is very picky; the milk has to be just right," YucateCosa said.

"I was worried her eyes were ruined because of the infection," YucateCosa said.

"June 21st, she got some stripes."

And her nose also started to change color.

She began to crawl and even climb!

That's when she was given her name.
"Her name is Rockette, Rocky for short, and she already knows her name," YucateCosa said.

Such a peaceful little angel.

Caught by the flash!

Rocky is never short of a sleeping buddy.

How beautiful!

Awwwww!

"The baby daddy snuck into my house. I call him Kevin; he lives next door," YucateCosa said.

YucateCosa continued to post updates on Rocky.
"July 17th. Thank you all for the kind words and encouragement. I will make another post as she grows and maybe get a picture of the momma cat."

And it looks like she's doing better than ever!
Good luck, Rockette!
