Scared Shelter Dogs Comfort Each Other While Waiting For Their Furever Homes
Bridget and Louie were the kind of shelter dogs that made people stop scrolling. Caught in a heartbreaking moment, the two scared pups were leaning on each other while they waited for someone to notice them.
Melinda did notice, and she and her husband, Casey, went straight to the shelter to bring the pair home. At first, the dogs were hesitant, but their bond was impossible to miss, and it made their story even more moving.
Once they felt safe, Bridget and Louie slowly opened up, and their journey took a happy turn. Read on to see how these two shelter dogs found their forever home together.
This was the photo that Melinda saw.
I saw a picture of them hunched over in a corner, holding on to each other. They looked so broken.
Their owner had dropped them off at the shelter without an explanation. They needed to learn what love felt like, and I wanted to be the one to teach them. - Melinda

Meet Bridget and Louie. They are on their way to Melinda's home.
Bridget is the larger, ginger-colored Pit Bull. The smaller black dog is her brother, named Louie.

These two are inseparable.
It was amazing to see them open up just by being in our home. But it wasn’t until we introduced them to our dogs that we really saw a change in them.
They were more excited to meet our dogs than to meet us. - Melinda

As the two dogs shared a unique bond, Melinda wished for them to be adopted together. True enough, Monica, a woman from San Diego, was impressed by such a strong bond and decided to adopt them right away.
Melinda knew then that she (Monica) would be a great fur mom for these two sweeties.
Here's Melinda and the duo.
When you foster, it’s never easy to let go. You fall in love with every little moment you spend with them and only want them to have a perfect life.
When they finally arrived at their new home, it just felt so right. This is where they were meant to be. - Melinda

We are glad that the pair are finally safe in their forever home with their new owner, Monica. Like every dog, they deserve to be loved and cared for, too.
Thanks to Melinda, who immediately rushed to get them and provided them with temporary shelter. It was brief but sweet, and she helped them become the happy and high-spirited dogs they used to be.
