Abandoned Senior Dog Gets Rescued From The Freezing Cold, A True Christmas Miracle
Emmy’s Christmas miracle started with a senior dog curled up on the street in Ecorse, Michigan, in weather that was brutal enough to steal anyone’s hope. She wasn’t just cold, she was in trouble, the kind of trouble that makes you stop scrolling and stare.
Patty found her and wasted zero time, driving Emmy straight to Pet Care Clinic Lincoln Park. The intake was heartbreaking, severely underweight, loaded with fleas, and marked by pressure sores on her elbows and knees, so the team had to move her to an emergency clinic fast.
And on Christmas morning, when Emmy finally stabilized, the miracle shifted from survival to second chances.

Patty immediately drove Emmy to Pet Care Clinic Lincoln Park, where she was examined by a team of veterinarians. The poor dog was severely underweight, suffering from malnutrition, fleas, and pressure sores on her elbows and knees.
The veterinarians immediately transferred her to an emergency clinic for further treatment. Emmy's care was then taken over by P.O.E.T. Animal Rescue, and she was admitted to the clinic's ER.
Over the next few days, she received treatment to raise her body temperature and was estimated to be around 8 to 9 years old. Her rough past with previous owners was evident, but despite everything she had been through, Emmy still wagged her tail and loved to be petted.

The poor pup was starved when they found her

Once Emmy was transferred to the emergency clinic, the goal turned into one thing, raising her body temperature and getting her through the worst of it.
It also echoes the starved mom dog who kept her puppies alive for five months in brutal cold.
After P.O.E.T. Animal Rescue took over her care, Boesen showed up ready to help, and Emmy still wagged her tail like she trusted humans anyway.
On Christmas morning, Emmy's condition stabilized, and she was no longer in danger. Boesen, from P.O.E.T. Animal Rescue, came to pick her up and take her to her foster home.
Despite being aware of the pit mix's condition, Boesen was pleasantly surprised by her sweet and friendly demeanor. Emmy welcomed Boesen with a wagging tail and loved to be pampered.
Emmy's life took a turn for the better as she was welcomed into her foster home and spent a comfortable holiday with other rescued pets. She had finally escaped her troubled past and was ready to start a new, happy life.
She enjoyed lounging on couches, cuddling up in fuzzy blankets, and lying under the Christmas tree near the heater, waiting for her forever family to adopt her.
