Starving Dog In A Rundown Garage Wags Her Tail For Joy As Rescuers Arrived
Arnia’s story starts in a rundown garage, where a starving dog was found waiting for help she may not have expected. Even in terrible shape, she still wagged her tail when rescuers finally arrived.
The dog had clearly been through a lot, but the people who found her were able to give her food, care, and a chance to recover. From there, Arnia’s condition slowly improved, and her journey became one of the most touching rescue stories around.
Now her recovery has turned into a hopeful search for a new home, and her next chapter is still unfolding.
Arnia's Condition When Rescuers First Found Her in a Rundown Garage
As rescuers approached a rundown garage, they discovered a dog in terrible condition. She was anemic, dehydrated, and abnormally thin due to starvation.
Arnia weighed only 6 kilograms, which is half of what her normal weight should be. When rescuers took her, she was so exhausted that she was always sleeping.
However, despite her condition, she was still fighting and trying to survive. Along with other dogs named Alma and Anuka, they managed to find a warm spot in a pile of tiles amidst the cold December days, hoping that one day they would be saved.
Arnia, the "Strong as an Eagle" Dog
Rescuers named her Arnia, which means "strong as an eagle." They were amazed by her bravery to be alive and her positive response to them.
When She Met the Rescuers
Seeing her condition, rescuers knew that Arnia had a long journey to recovery. However, they were confident that she could do it with the right support and help from the animal rescue team.
That first meeting changed everything for her.
It’s the same kind of turnaround as the underweight dog who collapsed in the road and now lives her best life.
Being Safe and Sound at Last
The rescuers learned that Arnia was around 2 to 3 years old when they found her. However, she is as playful as a puppy and finds joy in the simplest things, which people around her find adorable.

Right now, Arnia has completely recovered and is currently looking for a new home. She is in the care of Howls Of A Dog, which is located in Romania.
