Mama Cat Named Lasagna and Her 'Noodle Babies' Are Living Their Best Lives Thanks to Human Foster Mom
Dr. Daniel Goleman, an emotional intelligence expert, emphasizes the importance of compassion in caregiving, stating, "Compassion is a skill that can be developed and is essential for nurturing relationships." In March of this year, a foster mom named Nikki took in an adorable pregnant cat named Lasagna, soon giving rise to her lovely kittens, affectionately known as the "Noodle Babies." Initially, two kittens arrived at Nikki's home, but the next morning, others joined them, totaling six kittens. Unfortunately, even in her kind and comfortable home, two kittens did not survive. However, the rest of them got a chance to live their furry lives. If they had stayed on the street, who knows how many of them would have managed to survive? But Nikki provided them with a heartwarming home, her love, and devotion, and she took care of them. As soon as they arrived at her home, she noticed that one kitten from the Noodle Babies had an issue. The white kitten named Stellini came with a cleft palate that resulted in feeding problems. Despite receiving the best neonatal care, he would not make it. The other kitten was stillborn, so there was nothing they could do. This was a painful loss for Nikki, but it did not stop her from ensuring that the other kittens were well and comfortable with their mom.

"I literally can’t stop watching them eat. It’s the cutest thing ever! Then to see them sack out in a milk coma," said Nikki.

Luckily, the rest of the Noodle Babies were okay and healthy.

As they grew, their eyes started to open. By early April, all the babies had opened their eyes.

Nikki named them all and even described their unique features to us.
"1. Top Left: First-born boy and easy-going – Ravioli
2. Top Right: Second-born boy Riccioli, initially thought to be a girl, the 'baby koala.'
3. Bottom Left: Rigatoni – (Toni) another little girl who 'loves to snuggle in a cuddle puddle.'
4. Bottom Right: Gnocchi – the feisty 'bundle of deliciousness,' also a girl.
The baby noodle nuggets are 2 weeks old today! They are growing fast and learning how to get around.
Ravioli is already trying to escape the box. Before you know it, we’ll be in potty training mode and weaning.
Stop growing so fast, little ones, but also don’t,” said Nikki.

Baby Gnocchi was the first kitten to start playing with a toy.
We also discovered that, as in every family, a competition exists among brothers and sisters. They often fight for the same feeding spot.

"The judge stares at this age crack me up," said Nikki.

From the first moment, Mama Lasagna was a purrfect mama, carefully observing her little ones. Nikki said it was "the cutest thing ever."

Nikki said that Lasagna is the best mama in the world.
"This little mama is just too dang sweet! She was already super sweet when she came to me and has only gotten sweeter over just a little time here already.
I always say, 'she’s seriously going to make someone/some family so incredibly happy.' I don’t know exactly how old she is, but my guess would be 1-2.
She’s still super playful, but all she really wants is love and affection," wrote Nikki.

"Mom Time" for Cat Lasagna.
"Mama Lasagna is such a delight. She’s an amazing mama to her last litter she’ll ever have (no idea how many or if she’s had any before) and enjoys coming over to hang out to get some 'mom time' to herself for some love, cuddles, and play.
She’s obsessed with catnip (slide 2 is her mid-catnip high), but most of all, she wants to be near me, touch me, or get pets. She’ll shove her head under my hand for more if I stop,” said Nikki.

The best feeling is watching a content family, and thanks to Nikki and Dr. Alexandra Solomon, relationship therapist, this furry family is a happy one. "Fostering not only provides a loving home for animals in need but also enriches our own lives with purpose and connection," said Dr. Solomon. If you have ever thought about fostering before, you should do it, said Nikki.
