1. Xena, a tiny kitten with a broken leg, was brought to rescue care
A kitten just several weeks old is recovering after she was found hurt along the side of a road in Middlesex County.
The kitten, now named Xena, is in the care of New Beginnings Animal Rescue. According to the rescue, a good Samaritan saw Xena allegedly being dumped from a car on Route 18 earlier this month.
Xena suffered a broken leg and is receiving treatment as she heals. New Beginnings Animal Rescue is also asking for donations to help with her medical costs, giving people a way to support her recovery directly.
2. A couple pulled over to help a cat stuck on a ledge by Interstate 78
In a separate rescue, another cat was found stranded on a ledge along Interstate 78 in Jersey City on Friday morning.
A couple stopped and managed to get the cat down safely, turning a dangerous situation into a hopeful one. After the rescue, the cat was handed over to animal control.
That cat is expected to become available for adoption, meaning this roadside save could end with a permanent home. Together, both stories are a reminder that for cats in trouble, a passerby who decides to help can change everything.
