Woman Who Lost Two Senior Cats Rescues Abandoned Newborn Kitten and Starts Round the Clock Care
After saying goodbye to two senior cats, Avonne found herself helping a kitten who was only just starting life. She discovered the abandoned newborn outside an empty house and brought him home, beginning the kind of around the clock care a baby that small needs.
Avonne came across the kitten while walking her dogs near some debris outside an empty house. He was so newly born that he could not open his eyes or stand, and she decided to take him in so he would have a chance to survive.
She later described finding him as an answered prayer. In the clip below, she shares how unexpected the rescue was, especially because she already has many pets and did not really have room for another. Even so, this was not a situation she felt she could leave behind.

A rescue that quickly became full time care
Once the kitten was safe with her, Avonne took him to a veterinarian to be checked. From there, she made a plan to nurse him for a month so he could get stronger and eventually be placed with a rescue.
That decision meant taking on a lot of work. Newborn kittens need to eat around the clock, and that has been part of this kitten's routine as he settles into her home. Avonne stepped into the role of foster mom at a moment when the kitten could do almost nothing for himself, and the early goal was simple: keep him fed, keep him warm, and help him grow strong enough for what comes next.
There is also something especially personal about the timing. The kitten entered her life just after she had lost two senior cats, which gives the story an extra layer for cat people who know how often one chapter with a beloved pet seems to meet the beginning of another.
Updates, advice, and a very tiny patient
Avonne has continued sharing updates on how the kitten is doing, and the picture so far is encouraging. Although she has said the experience has brought challenges to her household, the baby himself appears to be doing well.
One of the most heartening parts of the story has been the response from other people following along. Commenters have been offering resources and practical tips for caring for such a small kitten, including advice to wake him every two hours at night for feedings. That routine has been helping him put on much needed weight.
She has also shown how small he still is. In one update, the kitten fit into the palm of her hand, a reminder of just how vulnerable he was when she found him. Another update showed the moment she introduced him to her own pets, and by her account it went about as well as could be expected.
For now, the kitten's road is still a long one. But he has a foster mom who stopped for him when he was alone outside, got him veterinary care, and committed to the steady work of keeping a newborn alive. He also has something many rescued cats end up gathering very quickly: a circle of people rooting for him, one feeding and one update at a time.
